Who do you trade and who with?

i was just stating the obvious. if JD & Wash aren't overwhelmed with the dregs we have battling for the 3rd, 4th & 5th spots in the rotation right now and thru ST, then they may consider a trade for a SP. don't have a clue who that might be for

Wow, great deal for the Orioles. With Cruz hitting behind Davis, Davis might hit 50 more bombs this year

How do you figure? Nelly doesn't offer as much protection as you think. Both guys are big power guys, but strike out prone in a major way. Not to mention Cruz it's extremely streaky.

I wanted Morales from the beginning of FA, but he makes less sense now. He would help solidify the offense though, and we're going to need to score more runs with the injuries to the staff. Signing him takes all of MM's AB's away though.

Yeah, signing Morales pretty much means trading Mitch. That's the only way it works.

"The Rangers will now receive what is currently the No. 30 overall pick in the 2014 draft"

I may be one of the few here but, I'm good with that.

We need to build our farm up a little again. We've still got one of the best, but we've given up some in recent years.

JP catches a break. I hope he takes advantage of his opportunity. Maybe he just needed a change of atmosphere, you never know.

Soto should be back with about two weeks of sorting training left. Should be good to go opening day.

There's no way you can possibly know that.

No shit.....I'll add IMO from now.

Now, do you think either one of these two, if moved to 3rd as the baseball world is today, will be as good defensively or even approach Beltre's offensive numbers?

I honestly don't know what the projections are - from those who know more than me/you - as to Odor's offensive numbers. But Profar doesn't project to be Beltre's at all.

Offensively? Absolutely not. I don't believe there's much question about that.

To consider that a short stop with projected elite defense at the position might play elite defense at third and even approach Beltre level of defense is not exactly an "out there" line of thinking.

Btw, calm down bud. You get wound up too easily.

I hope you're on to something here. Maybe we pull a Chris Davis, just from another position, if you know what I mean?

I don't see that happening with this particular broken toy.

Actually, I'm with ya on this. I'm probably looking at Beltre through Beltre-colored-glasses at this time. Pretty huge fan.

Do you know what Odor's projections are for the future, offensively? I see he hit double digit dingers in the minors a couple of times.

I haven't looked at odors stuff in a while. I'll have to do some research.

Thanks.....you're considerably better at this than me and I'd like to see where he comes in.

But what I'm overall alluding too is, it seems to me we're set up via age/salary to win now, and without something magical happening in ST we're shy of this goal and with a pretty big disadvantage too.

Am I being too pessimistic?

Hey, I'll take Beltre of a few years ago than the two guys I mentioned, but, I'm afraid that ain't going to happen.

We've all got pretty down over the Harrison thing. Sure things will look pretty good in about a month or so.
Sky ain't fallin' but you're right about the colander ;)
