Yeh, I know. I understand the business side of this, but I think we need to be thinking about the competitiveness of this team this year. And if Profar is our answer for 2b, then we may be dealing Odor eventually anyway....for some pitching talent...

I still think by the time he comes up (2 years) that he plays 2nd and Profar moves to 3rd.

Elvis should have known better. You can't babysit him and tell him he should be throwing some during the off season. Of course he knows that now. Not sure what happened with Profar. Could throw footballs. LOL!

Elvis, Profar, Choo, Moreland, Beltre, now Soto...I think I've forgot a couple more....this is well above normal...

I think Moreland and Beltre are leg injuries waiting to happen. Age can be partially contributed to Beltre but not sure with Moreland.

Moreland has been an injury waiting to happen his entire career! Ok, enough of the negative stuff from me, looking forward to the start of the season....well, I think I am...

So..... we could be without Soto for a considerable amount of time, while we know Profar will miss 10-12 weeks and I am sure that is probably a best case scenario. EA, Choo and Rios all seem to have injuries that could lead to DL stints and who knows how the Yu situation plays out as neck stiffness that lingers can't be good, to go along w his back stiffness issues. Then you have Matt, Colby, Derek, Neftali among the injury concerns. Leonys and Choice seem to be healthy though Leonys has struggled so far. JPA is awful w the bat aside from some HR's now and then. May see plenty of Chirinos if Soto misses significant time. Sometimes, people overreact when a player or two get injured and I certainly don't think the sky has fallen, but at some point you have to be realistic about what kind of season a team can have based on the terrible misfortune a team might have with so many injuries. Will wait and see before I freak out though.

All I had heard is they are doing an MRI tomorrow on his knee..

He seemed fine after taking him out. Was even laughing a little in the dug out. Maybe a precautionary move.

Assuming good news for Soto, here's how I'd do it.

Choo
Andrus
Fielder
Beltre
Rios
Choice
Soto
2b
Martin

If choice can keep his ST performance up that could be a pretty damn good lineup still.

im not concerned about choo and rios....(knock on wood) they seem fine and wouldnt have played in the outfield today if there was any real concern

It's a long season man. Plenty of things can still go right. Losing profar for half a season hurts big time though.

Don't lose hope. We get Harry back in May. Lewis sooner than that. Really don't know how much production we were going to get out of Profar. And Choice is a Godsend. And look at A's rotation now.

Honestly, I worry more about the Angels now than the A's. You know that Pujols and Josh will bounce back, and if those young pitchers they acquired pan out, they may be the team to beat....and they've got.....David Freese!!!
