We've now got a SS, 2nd baseman, and LF who can't throw. And a CF who can't hit.

What, me worried?

I'm not to worried about Elvis. He has track record and is still getting in shape due to his inactivity in the off season. I'm not to worried about choo either. He can always dh and put choice in left. The only one losing ab's is Moreland..... Which might be a good thing

They updated it a couple of times since I first read it this morning. The newest update says 6 years 144 MM. That's a chunk of change.

I have no clue what Max is thinking if that is the actual number. I don't know what else he is expecting to be honest.

Edit...Just read on bless you boys that he apparently wanted 7 years over 6. I think I would have been okay with 6/144. That's just me though.

GOOD HEAVENS.....What is he and Boras thinking? I don't get this at all. It's a life changing contract, and you want to roll the dice on not getting injured?

Seems foolish to me.

I believe you forgot a pretty important piece, Profar.

Boras is saying that the Tigers rejected their offer and the Tigers say it's otherwise. My guess is that they both made offers and might end up compromising in the middle before it's all said and done. I get that he wants number one money, but maybe he wants to THE guy too? No clue.

Everyone seems to have they're "sense-of-humor" hat on today. Good one.

Between the two, Hanson looked a lot better than Saunders. Hanson was a hair from getting out of the 5 run innning with 0. Ross may need to be added to the starting rotation and Saunders sent to AAA instead of the other way around. Saunders is behind some in being ready for the season since he had a late start to ST.

Wont happen. Saunders doesnt have a minor league clause in his contract. He'll ask for and get his release.

Anyone else read that Max Scherzer turned down an extension worth 24-25.7MM a year so he can test the open market? Boras must think he can net around 28 or something. He better put another year like last year then. All Boras clients end up in Texas eventually though right? haha It just feels that way... Scherzer rejects extension offer, tables extension talks with Tigers - MLB Daily Dish

Wow ... turn down 25 in hopes of getting 28? Will serve him right to get acquired by NYY and have to pay city income tax on top of state tax and closing on a new house. Sucka ...

The 28 is just my own speculation. I also read later they were off on years.

Regardless......IMO, if you've got a chance to change the course of your families life you do it.

I do understand we're talking millions and I don't have any "real" perspective on what this really means. However, in percentages, it matters not at all, and it takes all the guess work out for the rest of your life, your children's life, etc.
