I just don’t get it total opposites.

through 7 games this looks like the best rotation we’ve ever seen and Bieber is the next Maddux.

semi-talented offense that refuses to support the SP’s. They love hitting in double plays and choke every bases loaded.

Can’t complain with the record it’s just crazy how different the pitching is to the offense. I just cant see them lasting long in the playoffs. Eventually hitters will catch on especially an offense like Houston, right?

Hopefully things even out and we start getting some hits in those situations, its gonna be real tough to go very far if this keeps up all season.

Catcher is going to be a gigantic hole in our lineup all season. Especially with Perez out.

Whoever we trot out there is not even going to get close to the league average production for catchers.

Leon is terrible. He had that one year with Boston where he somehow managed to hit 300 in like 250 ABs. Other than that he has only 1 "full" season over .200 (.225) and a career OBP of .283......rough

Looks like Bubic is starting tomorrow against the White Sox. I am here for it. Better than throwing Bolanos or underqualified openers out there.

Singer wasn't nearly as good as today, but flashing the changeup was nice to see when he can't just chuck sliders out there. Hope to see that be flashed a bit more to give him true third pitch.

Luis Robert is going to bring the pain.

Hopefully.

Until Hand gets his velocity back I wouldn't mind Karinchak move to closer and Hand to have a setup role in 7th or 8th. Karinchak has some nasty stuff and he can get it up there in the upper 90's.

Nice article about Hand. Your closer needs to have a big arm and Hand's velocity is not getting better anytime soon.

Indians need to rethink Brad Hand as their closer

"His four-seam fastball, which he uses 36% of the time, is sitting a 90.8 mph this season, down 1.9 mph from 2019 and 3 mph from 2018. Likewise, his sinker, more seldom used (13%), is at 91 mph, which is a 2.3 mph decrease since 2018. His most dangerous weapon, the slider he utilizes 50% of the time, is also lagging in velocity, at 79.5 mph, a 2.5-mph drop since 2018. Similarly concerning, Hand’s slider has lost more than 200 rpm over the last two seasons (2,357 vs. 2,584 for 2020 and 2018, respectively)."

As far as Karinchak:

"The 24 year old set a modern Minor League record last year for strikeout rate (22.0 per nine innings) and has 12 whiffs in 8 1/3 innings with the Indians over the past two seasons. His high-spin 95-99 mph fastball and hammer breaking ball will allow him to serve in a high-leverage role provided that he throws enough strikes."

They guy wasn't brought in for his bat so he's not exactly going to fail expectations.
