he could get beaten out but he won't be cut. We were talking about locks to make the roster. Not playing time.
I agree that there's about a 90% chance that he makes the cut, unless, and this is important, he performs terribly in training camp which isn't out of the question.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just pointing out as you did that this is a new regime and everyone must prove themselves regardless of prior status, draft status or how they were acquired.but draft status carries a lot of weight especially being a 3rd round pick. If you play bad and you are a 6h round pick you most likely be cut. If you play bad and you are a 3rd round pick you will stick on the roster b/c of your draft status and get another chance to prove yourself. Especially in a new regime.
They jury is not out on the guy in his rookie year.
