Phillies managed to dump Santana in the deal. That's a huge win. What do you guys think about Segura to the Phillies? If it goes through that's a good pickup for Philadelphia IMO.

They're the new Kansas City Royals. Sort've.That's Mariners baseball... Trade away talent, don't win ...

Looks like only $20 million coming back for Mets, not loving it. $20 million per for ages 36-41, post PED Csno is rough, especially giving up big time trade chips.
Here's hoping Diaz becomes the next great closer.
that's an awesome trade for the Phils IMO. Clears up the 1B/OF logjam a bit and allows them to move Hoskins to 1st. maybe it's just me, but Crawford's minor league track record the last 3 years seems a bit underwhelming especially for someone that's been consistently ranked top 20. Segura's also under contract through 2022 and he's been one of the better infielders in baseball over the last 3 years.
Damn. Thought for sure my Phillies had him.And there it is.

#Nationals have agreed to terms with Patrick Corbin on a 6-year deal.
Damn. Thought for sure my Phillies had him.
I'm wondering what this means for Bryce Harper's future in DC.
Somewhere, JA Happ's phone just started ringing.
Nats big 3 $ for 2019
Strasburg $35M
Scherzer $35M
Corbin $26M (guess-timation based on him beating Darvish's deal)
They were already at $180M before Corbin. Hard to see them bringing Harper back now with what he'd command.
My bad, Nats are at $164M for 2019, not counting Corbin.
Off the hook.
I wonder if the Yanks just bring him back rather than go big(ish) on Keuchel.
