So sad... Looks like it was a motorcycle accident..."Former NFL running back Alex Collins, who played three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and two with the Baltimore Ravens, died on Monday morning, his family announced. He was 28. No cause of death was released."
I think we are probably just being a little extra cautious with most of these guys. Also, the unexpectedly great success of last year's rookie class probably gives these guys a little more grace and less pressure to make immediate impacts. Sounds like JSN's injury is a lot like TL's from last year, and he was only out 1 game. Charbonnet played as you say, and I suspect he'll be a go in week 1. Let's also not forget there's an idle week between pre-season week 3 & reg season week 1, so that will help. All these rookie injuries are annoying w/ game day two weeks out... We are definitely going to be behind the 8 ball w/ this draft class...
- Witherspoon hasn't practiced yet due to his hammy... He probably won't be able to get it going till game 3 or 4 assuming his hammy doesn't tighten up each time...
- JSN broke his wrist... He probably won't be able to go until game 2 or 3... Eskridge is out and D. Young is out... Bobo our #3 going into week 1? Cody Thompson is banged up as well...
- Zach Charbonnet playing but he has a shoulder stinger he's been playing through... Tough kid...
- Cameron Young - Calf still out...
- Mike Morris shoulder is still bothering him which hasn't allowed him to practice...
- Oluwatimi elbow has prevented him to practice since week 1 of TC...
- McIntosh injured himself in the mock game so he hasn't been able to play in any Preseason games or practice since...
They are minor and i'm not concerned at all w/ the injuries... Hammy's are scary but outside of that...Most of these are pretty minor injuries from what I've read. I think Seattle is just being a bit precautious since these are building blocks for the future. They don't need to be starting right away.
I'd say the only guy I really want out there on day 1 is JSN so I'm hoping his injury is truly minor. Walker should be starting in week 1 and while Charbonnet would be great to have, it's not a deal breaker if he's limited for a little bit. Hall seems okay to go but Nwosu and Mafe (who has looked lights out) will be the starters... Taylor and/or Hall can come in on passing downs. Oluwatimi is competing for the starting job but Brown can fill in just fine (and has more experience). Witherspoon I think everyone is curious to see, but that's the one position we have a TON of depth at...
Morris/Cam Young I am a little more concerned about because our DL is SO thin. While I don't see either as starters, I'm expecting them to get snaps to rest other DL.
It's looking like our early bye might be more of a blessing than a curse. All these rookie injuries are annoying w/ game day two weeks out... We are definitely going to be behind the 8 ball w/ this draft class...

Nice to finally see some news regarding him. We've heard so little about him since he got hurt that I was wondering how severe his injury really was.Apparently Adams passed his physical and is off PUP list
Hard to get too excited w/ his injury history...Apparently Adams passed his physical and is off PUP list
True but if he is healthy...................Hard to get too excited w/ his injury history...
I'm wondering if they're going to start him out as a 3rd down/passing down specialist at the LOS to ease him back into football shape... They have Kobe Bryant working out at Safety as well so we already have some solid depth there...True but if he is healthy...................

For what 2 plays? At the very least With Adams you can really count on him... to be out with a injury soon
do we have a pool going for when he gets put back on IR?For what 2 plays? At the very least With Adams you can really count on him... to be out with a injury soon
I guess it's good that Adams is back and they obviously are paying him that ridiculous money anyway so they have to have him out there. But what actual value does he bring to the table for the team? We already have plenty of pass rushers. Bryant can step into the SS spot and is better in coverage. Julian Love is S/ LB hybrid already. It's nuts that the team is paying Adams to be nothing much more than a blitzing safety. Of course, he'll probably just get hurt so we can't even get anything in a trade for him. I thought trading for him was okay but the contract was dumb as fuck. At least they can get out of it after this season and just cut their loss.
Yeah, true but it's just that 20mil (approx) for that really is poor value for the buck. I'm not saying he isn't good at certain things but at this point, he just doesn't provide much more extra that we don't already have. I do agree that he could help in run support though, especially on the edges vs. a team like the Niners. The problem is will he even be on the field by Thanksgiving. I hope he does get utilized in a way that makes our defense way better but maybe it's just hard for me to see it at this point in time.I get the cynicism. Adams has barely played the last 2 seasons and more likely than not he will get injured again.
But I think we are really doing a disservice to both Pete and Adams if we start thinking that Adams has little or no value. Adams does provide considerable pass rush support. But he is also pretty strong in run support. His coverage skills are limited certainly but it's not like he is Jordyn Brooks out there.
Bringing him as a LB in nickel defenses gives the team a lot of flexibility. He has the speed to track down screens and can be an effective zone defender.
Will he be a difference maker? Probably not. But I do think he can be a plus defender if used in the right way.
I’ll kidding aside, I would honestly be surprised if he played more than six or seven games…do we have a pool going for when he gets put back on IR?
