Despite the horrible start, the Pelicans now have won 3 in a row and only 3GB of the 8th seed. The only teams that are probably a playoff lock right now are the Dubs, Spurs, Grizz, Clippers, and Thunder, which leaves 3 possible playoff spots. Tough December coming up, if they're within striking distance after that they got a pretty good chance.

If we get rid of Bledsoe the team immediately becomes worse. I agree with the Morris part.

And the Pelicans are much better than their record. I mean they have a top 5 NBA player on their team. They made the playoffs last year and have largely the same roster.

They've been hurt big by injuries, probably a .500 or better team right now if healthy from game 1. But injuries happen, Ish Smith has been big for them especially during the win streak. It won't be easy for them to make the playoffs after the 1-11 start but if they can get 100% healthy it's definitely possible. Despite the injuries, two of their most injury prone players(Anderson and Gordon) have stayed healthy and been very productive. I certainly won't mind if they went back to losing because it's help the Kings' chances, but I expect them to play better.

Tyreke Evans is close to returning too. They may not be done… which is insane. The West is so weird this year.

Like I posted earlier, I didn't think Gentry was HC material but I didn't think it would be this bad. It's true that the roster doesn't fit well (WTF happened to Asik's game) but still

Yep always believed he is not HC material. Just because he was a good assistant doesn't mean he would be a good HC

Gentry's gone as coach at season's end. That team should be much better.

I typically think you should give a coach two years before making a decision to fire him but...

NO just lost to Dallas tonight when Dallas rested 4 of their starters and they just played a double OT game last night and it was a home game for NO. How the fuck do you not win that game?

I'm more impressed with Rick Carlisle than any coach in the NBA right now. I think he should win COY if Dallas continues to play this well. Not too many people (myself included) thought they'd be playoff bound this year. Outside of Pop I think he may be the 2nd best coach in the NBA, he always gets the most out of his players.

I agree. Along with Dirk, Carlisle deserves a ton of credit for the 2011 championship.

Gentry is a freaking Assistant. As I said before if this is who they planned on hiring, should have just kept Monty Williams
