The Reds and Jeimer Candelario have agreed to a deal, per source. The deal is pending physical.

Candelario’s deal with the Reds is three years and $45 million with a club option for 2027 for $15 million.

I read that if you talk about meeting with him he won't sign with you...lol. That is why M's have been hush on him. Ya, that is the reason.

That is kind of a frustrating thing, is if we didn’t know any better every thing they have done thus far would point to them signing him. They needed budgetary flexibility, haven’t talked about him, have the controlled environment that leaked that he wants, have a world class facilities right down the road, have the ability to still allow him to pitch. The only thing that disqualifies Seattle is a winner, but if Toronto and the Angels are still in the running then the M’s can’t be out of the sweepstakes besides the money.

I still think the Dodgers are the favorites. I truly do not understand the appeal of Toronto at all. Once the Rays and A’s leave their stadium, Roger’s Centre is going to be the worst stadium in the sport. Sure, he could become national hero but with all the “rumors” of them wanting to trade Bichette and Vlad Jr, it doesn’t seem like much different at all than Seattle.

I get the Braves, even though, along with Toronto kind of goes against the whole rumor of him wanting to be on the west coast because of the time zone stuff. They are hands down the best team on paper in baseball and best offense in baseball history.

If he goes back to the Angels then I think the same whispers will happen with him that have about Trout, where winning doesn’t really matter. If people remember everyone was turning on Trout right before Ohtani signed, because he refused to be the face of the sport. Can’t imagine the same thing won’t happen if he goes back to a team that on paper is going to be the worst team in the division.
