Fitzgerald has specifically said he is not leaving Northwestern.

Money is not important to him. He has money and is comfortable. Sure, he could be mega rich like Saban and Brown, but it is not important to him.

Status is not important to him. He is quite comfortable in his skin. Status is important to some coaches, very important to a few, but not Pat Fitzgerald.

He loves the Chicago area. I don't know why though, I hate big cities.

If Fitzgerald starts to lose a LOT of games, he will just resign. Only then will he be available to another school.

Lets wait until they play a CONFERENCE game before we start firing coaches.

Texas and Nebraska are both (0-0) in league play.

I root for my team and support them 100%.

I expect them to go out there and try to win the Big 12.

..............

And frankly the Big 12 looks horribly bad. It might be the worst I have ever seen it.

The only win the entire league has out of conference worth anything is (1-2) Mississippi State.

So, there is no reason a flawed Texas team cannot be in the mix of mediocrity.

New Candidate for Nebraska, listed on the Wikipedia site.

credit to jack_john_Mark for posting this in the Husker forums. I wonder if he was the editor?

"Melissa is currently the leading candidate to replace Bo Pelini as Head Coach of the Nebraska Cornhusker's Football program"

Neither of these teams are going to get magically better in league play. Texas has a bad Offense and the D. stinks. Even if the D. comes together, no way they put up the points to beat many of those teams in the Big 12. Nebraska has a chance, but they haven't played a good four qrts of football this season. Texas is sunk and Nebraska is taking on water quickly. They both will be looking for coaches at seasons end.
