Bryce hit an inside-the-park homer tonight.

Eerily similar to the J.T. Realmuto’s in the parker vs Braves in the playoffs. Both plays were a result of a CF misjudging the bounce off the funky wall in CF and the lazy RF not backing up the play just like Acuna didn’t last year.

I was ripping this dude to no end. I also mocked the idea of giving him a standing ovation. It’s absolutely worked though haha. Last night he walked it off. Check out these numbers since Phillies fans decided to give him that show of support.
Imagine if Eagles fans gave that kind of support to Santa back in the late 60's. I probably would have gotten that train set and my life would be completely different.

Bravos take 2 of 3 from the Mets and go 7-2 on their homestand. Ozuna is playing phenomenally right now.

Bryce hitting .333/.421/.707 with 7 doubles and 7 homers this month. He's got a 94.1 EV and 52.7% hardhit% in August. He's also hitting fewer grounders, something that was plaguing him for most of the year.

I didn’t think his power was coming back this year. I thought it was a product of him rushing back from Tommy John. His power resurgence has been a welcome addition to a club that hasn’t hit a ton of HRs this year. The Phil’s led the majors in OPS for August.

Even Turner's looking more like pre-2023 Turner.

Maybe it’s just coincidence but Turner resurgence has my world shook as a Philly sports fan. From the time I was 3 years old, I’ve been conditioned to boo. Since the home crowd gave Turner a standing ovation in his first AB early in August he’s blown up. At the time, I was calling it Special Olympics Official Hugger shit. Son of a bitch, if it doesn’t look like it worked haha.

Strasburg retiring. Sucks he couldn't stay healthy but he was still able to carve out a very good career. Helped fuel the Nats WS run.

Refresh my memory-how did he sacrifice his career? Did he pitch through an injury that had lasting damage or something? It always seemed to me they treated him like he was made of glass his entire career. Or do you think if they shut him down at 150 innings in 2019 he could have gone on a few more years? If 2019 did cost him some more years at the end of his career I can't blame him though. He was shut down when he first came into the league during a season where the Nationals had a chance so I'm sure he didn't want to be on the sidelines when his team was in the playoffs again.

It just appears that way. I dont think they handled him poorly or anything. He was like 30 years old cant baby guys.

But he threw 209 regular season innings which lead the league. He did 215 back in 2014. But in between it was 175 and a bunch in the 120s-140s

He had 36 1/3 more innings in the post season. Rest of his career he had 19 post season innings

After 2019 he threw 31 innings over 3 innings. So whatever happened 2019 was his last hurrah. He let it all out and was dominant and got the ring.

I'm surprised 209 led the league. Probably because I'm always looking back at different players in other eras. But I guess that's where we're at now.

"6 inning starter" used to be an insult. Nowadays a "6 inning starter" is going deeper than most starting pitchers. Even the 200 inning mark is becoming more uncommon.

Pretty rare to see starters throw more than 110 pitches, and the only way you're throwing 120+ is if you've got a historic game going on. And even in the event of no-hitters teams seem pretty willing to go to the bullpen anyway.

Trea Turner now at .254/.305/.414 overall.

Not worth the price hes being paid but way better than what his line was most of the year and all that matters is he hits when it matters. So hes getting really hot at the right time

Ever since that standing ovation happened he’s been a different guy. I mean you had to think he was too good to be that bad. Your post hit the nail on the head. He’s here for September and October.
