How long until people stop talking about Zach Wheeler as a legit trade target?

This dude gets rocked all the fucking time.

I will say, considering everytime I see him pitch his era is about 9 for the game. He clearly has some good games if he’s overall era is 4.67.

But I still don’t see it with this dude. Seems like a bum the Twins would get and say “we tried”.

Playing 4 consecutive series against 3 of the 5 worst teams before the All Star Break helps too. They had @ Miami, @ Detroit, vs Miami, vs Kansas City

Think they get Baltimore right after the break too.

Like Garcia last year.

Wheeler doesn't thrill me too much, but I think his ERA has also been hurt to some extent by some pretty lousy defense. Mets are bad. He'll be a FA soon.

I think Boyd's the most intriguing name on the market.

That 4th inning was a pretty amazing display of bad defense by the Phils. The Rios/Turner plunking was bizarre, Turner got hit by a slider and Rios got ejected immediately. Turner petitioned to keep the pitcher in the game. The "Thank You Philly" chant was pretty funny.

The Nats are 24-10 in their last 34 and have picked up .5 games in the standings in that time. Pretty crazy

I didn't realize Kendrick is batting .333/.386/.567. Pretty crazy to think that Sanchez has a 3.18 ERA over his last 226.1 innings, he was pretty bad from 2015-17. They do have a very good 1-3 in Scherzer/Strasburg/Corbin. I imagine Kieboom will probably be back up soon, I don't think there's much for him to prove in the PCL (or much to gain from, honestly).

Braves are 40-17 since Acuna was moved to the lead off spot

Austin Riley's got a whiff rate over 20% (among players with 200+ PA, only Jorge Alfaro has a higher rate). that doesn't bode well.

Great wins for the Nats

That wasn't the Nats winning. That was our front office forfeiting the game before it even started by moving Julio and Soroka back for no reason. 4 runs would have been enough to win on Thursday if we would have used a real pitcher instead of a 24 year old bust.

Great win for the Braves last night.

Go to Washington and take 2 of 3 after going to Philly and taking 2 of 3, and the lead is at 6.5 games like it has been for what seems like forever.

Yet for some reason, people still have the Nats listed as bigger favorites to win the World Series despite being 6.5 games back and the Braves leading the head to head matchups.
