Well you say a lot of things, such as saying that Wong will "bring it this year," Carpenter will put up all-star numbers, and you're not worried about Bourjos' hitting.

1.5 out.

Forgive me for not being Eeyore on my team...LOL. This club is talented and has so many pieces waiting in the wings it's down right embarrassing.

Gallardo pinch hits in extra innings and delivers the walk off double.

Wins with the bat then the next day with the arm.

Not too shabby.

Carlos Gomez is now batting .313/.390/.572. Not only is he continuing to hit for power, but he also has the highest walk rate of his career (8.3%).

Looks like the Cardinals need to get back out on the road.

I'm not sure if it's because of the Brewers dominating the division since the beginning of the year, but for this being the NL Smack Talk Thread 2014, I don't see a whole lot of smack talk on here.

I thought for sure we'd have at least some more Brewers/Cards smack talk on here at least...but we can't even get that...

Don't expect Reds fans to do any smacking at all.

Doc: How healthy is healthy enough for Joey Votto?

It never ceases to amaze me just how negative the Cincinnati MSM is. And bitching about a player because he isn't playing through an injury? Good thing Brandon Phillips played through a hand injury and put up shitty stats!

Then there's that bitter old fuck Marty.

If my pirates are gong to make a move, its this month, next 19 out of 28 at home vs mostly meh teams.

I dont think the central is over yet, but if we dont have a good month you wont have to worry about us anymore cause we will be sellers.

Hmmm half the season is over and now 5 1/2 games back with injured pitchers. No other team has at least 50 wins

Yeah, barring a plethora of injuries, I can't really see the Brewers falling out of the playoff picture. Good lineup and defense and OK pitching. Estrada's been a pretty big disappointment this year though. He was solid in 2012 and 2013 and had some pretty good peripherals and seemed like a big time sleeper. He's really stunk up the joint so far this year, and his peripherals don't really hint at much improvement either. Strikeouts are down, walk rate's way up, and he's giving up a lot of home runs. They might want to get another starter.

Jimmy Nelson down in AAA is ready to be an MLB starter. He had a scoreless spot start earlier in the year against Miami. Pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings and has been tearing it up down in Nashville.

They could also go with Mike Fiers or Tyler Thornburg as a 5th starter as well. Both are really good options to have as a 5th starter.
