maybe a WR who is a good punt returner, but otherwise agree with not drafting a WR.

Lloyd is going to get cut unless there is an injury. This trade makes him the 4th or 5th WR, he doesn't play STs, and his skills are too similar to Johson. It's still not horrible that we signed him because he'll learn the system in preseason and i doubt anyone will pick him up (just like last year). if we have any injuries we just sign him again during the season and plug him in.

I see our WRs as:
Crabs
Boldin
SJ
Patton
Rookie
Baldwin (depending on numbers)

and I don't count Osgood...he's a pure ST player

The reason why I think Baldwin still has a chance is because of his size. If he can master the offense he provides a different element that our other WRs can't offer in the red zone.

Per @ChrisBrownBills, new #49ers WR @StevieJohnson13 played in the slot full-time in 2013 to utilize "unconventional route running skills.

I'm hyperventilating right now. The thought of Boldin, Crabtree, VD, and Stevie Johnson all on the field at the same time gives me the chills.

Now let's hope that Kap works on his reads and progression so he can utilize all his weapons.

I like it. Johnson can't carry the load but he doesn't need to. He's a little expensive for what he brings to the table, but not terribly so, and you keep flexibility without the guarantee money actually signing him would have cost.

This is a good move for the 49ers Stevie is not a num 1 but he did have have 3 1000 yard seasons so with an semi actual QBs and other good WR he should do great. That and he burned Revis almost every time

If by "full-time" he means about 71.3% of the time, then yeah. 12th highest slot percentage in the league among receivers who played in at least 60% of his team's snaps.

I'm just surprised the Niners couldn't have bullied Buffalo into throwing Spiller into the trade for an extra 6th round pick or something.

As a Cards fan, it's our turn to get some of Buffalo's stars for squat. SF gets Johnson, SEA gets Lynch...no fair.

Thats because Buff waits until they draft an unneeded player and sell off their best for nothing instead of trading before teams know you are trying to dump the guy

I'm surprised that was enough at all TBH. Buffalo should have just held on to him.

warm up that arm Kaep! Crabs, Boldin, Stevie J, Lloyd, Patton, VD and McDonald...yikes

How much you wanna bet the first play from scrimmage this year is still "Gore up the gut" for 1 yard?

Does that mean that you like?

I'm not sure. I haven't seen many Bills games over the last few years.

My initial thoughts is that it seems like more of the same, but he's CERTAINLY an upgrade over the team's WR depth last year.

Still hope they draft Moncrief.

If they guy can stay healthy he's a huge upgrade, it gives the team the best WR corp in the NFC West for sure. I don't think they need to draft Moncrief in the 2nd round but that's me.
