You mean he has similar stats as Purdy does. Infact the only stat that he has better than Purdy really is number of TDs.
Lol compare it to the years around him. We are now in the 50 TD era. 5,000 yards several times. Warner threw over 40 when nobody besides Marino did.

They did not penalize Kurt Warner for having Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, Tory Holt, Az-Zihir Hakim, and Ricky Proehl at skill positions and Orlando Pace at Left Tackle and a hall of fame head coach.

Now, some how that makes a difference with it being Purdy instead of Warner.

Purdy has a better head coach, All Pro LT, All Pro RB, All Pro TE, better number one WR.

Lamar is impressed

This thread is pretty much arguing just for the sake of arguing. I'm guessing at least half of you don't really believe what you're actually posting.

No, the Chiefs WR room is malpractice and Purdy landed into a dream.
Poor Mahomes doesn’t have Kelce and Hill to throw to anymore. He’s had pretty damn talented receivers for most of his career so far.

Kinda has to be Purdy by default. Doesn't pass the eyetest, but it sets a pretty awful precedent to not give it to him with the numbers he has, imo.

Would be a good year for a MOP instead of a MVP QB/Centric award.
CMC has great numbers too why not him?

Maybe because Purdy has great players as targets who don't the ball often.

It's a mixture of Purdy throwing an accurate ball and having the fewest attempts among starting QBs that have played all season so there are less balls to be able to drop.

If you look at 2022 Deebo had 9 dropped passes, Aiyuk had 8, Jennings had 7, and Kittle had 3.

So unless those guys seriously hit the juggs machine in the offseason I doubt they all suddenly became better at catching the ball but the more likely conclusion is they've had a full season of Purdy throwing them the ball and he puts it in spots where they can cleanly catch the ball.

It'll be an interesting year for MVP discussions because there really isn't a clear-cut favorite and there isn't many wrong answers as each guy has their pros and cons.

Purdy we've all gone over his case over and over again.

Lamar is becoming a hot name and I don't think he'd be a bad choice at all but on the flip side his numbers don't make for a strong case especially compared to his past numbers.

CMC would be a great choice but Mostert has just as many TDs and CMC isn't doing anything historically great that would usually cause an RB to get the nod but it is a really weak QB year so he might not need it.

Hill would need to break the record IMO to get it and if he's not out there isn't not helping his case especially with the Jets game where the Dolphins looked just fine without him there and if that continues that'll sink his case.

Dak simply put himself out of the discussion because the Cowboys have only beaten one team with a winning record and that team is on a 3 game losing streak right now. He just doesn't have anything to really stand on that separates him from Purdy even with the stats being close.

No way Hurts should be in the discussion at all at this point.

Allen can really put himself in a prime spot if Buffalo finishes strong and he doesn't have more games where he goes 7 for 94 yards.

My guess is whoever wins between the Ravens and 9ers that one of those players will get the boost they need to win it. Obviously barring some kind of 9-6 score defensive battle where everyone on offense looks like trash for both teams.

My thoughts as well. Whichever QB in all likelihood comes out of this with a win will be the frontrunner. If Lamar comes into San Fran and has one of his "it" games and leaves with a victory, the award is his to lose, imo.
