That wasn't his point at all.

What exactly was the point then? Warner was a proven quantity out of college and the 3rd pick in the draft. This guy isn't. He coughed the ball up a lot and is loose with the football. I hope he works out but some guys just don't develop like that.

We run a ball control offense. I'd rather see a known quantity vs. a guy who hasn't proven he can secure the ball with a 3rd rounder. And there's no guarantee that he's going to progress and learn the position.

I don't see us running a ball controlled offense as much as people seem to think... It has been evolving over the last year or so imo...

You're really comparing him to Curt Warner?A CFB Hall of fame player vs. a 1 year starter at the position? Keep reaching.

Yeah, I'm totally comparing him mono e mono... Warner's rap was he was a fumbler and continued to fumble in the NFL... Good thing the team didn't hold that against him and pass on him...

That fumble numbers may or may not be indicative of future success.

And sure, at least one of our draftees will not pan out. Probably two or three. But AO certainly wan't making a direct comparison to Warner.

And he did a lot of other things really well and was clearly a polished RB coming out of college. This guy isn't.

This was your initial comment:

I don't like the Prosise pick. He's going to be coughing it up a lot.

You tend to be negative on these boards so I guess this comment isn't out of the ordinary for you... We'll just have to see...

Well I am going to go with the proven track record that JS and PC have in developing players and diagnosing the players skill set. Do they always get it right? no but they have only put together a team that has had 4 straight seasons with double digit wins and brought us to 2 Superbowls.

wow that's very uninformed of you :P

You should do some research on Nick Vannett, you will be shocked. Some had him as the 2nd best TE in this draft. He is not a "fast" TE but has good hands and is strong. I don't see how he DOESN'T make the team. Hands are better than Willson's, Best Blocking TE all ready on this team. Until Graham is 100% he will split 50/50 with Wilson i bet and makes the roster easily.

Pete Carroll loves TEs that can block and we haven't had a proper one since Miller and McCoy were around.

Not only can Vannett block, but he's got great hands as well. Of the 40+ catchable passes thrown his way during his time at tOSU, he dropped only 2. Was asked to line up all over the place in Urbans offense and runs very clean routes. Also has no problem laying the lumber on LBs and Safeties. Had outstanding senior bowl which was probably where he sealed the deal to become one of the Hawks main targets. Great frame at 6'6" - 257 and with a perfect wingspan.

He should make the 2016 team and will be insurance in case Graham's not ready to start the season and if Willson bails in FA next year.

Great pickup for the Hawks. Wilsons got love this pick.

Yesterday, I was disappointed with the picks, that what happens when you start to anticipate picks and then it doesn't happen.:rolleyes2:

Over that now though, just going to see how these players work out. :hope:

It's so easy to get emotionally attached to players in the draft (guilty many times) and get bummed when their not taken when we could. But you got to love PC and Schneiders track record with the draft. They play the game of thrones like few when it comes to this.

Listening to PC/JS made me much happier with the draft. They know exactly who they want and why. Looking forward to seeing these guys play. Both OL and DL could/ should be better then last year.

Still a lot of concerns about his durability and one hit wonder factor. Not shocked he dropped into the later rounds.

Another RB - obviously we aren't completely sure about our depth there.

... or sure about Rawls coming back 100% and possible his endurance...

Christine Michaels may not make this team...

I figured they would want some insurance in case Rawls doesn't bounce back strong, or gets hurt again. I was hoping that insurance would be Howard Jordan.

As much as they (and we) like Rawls, it makes a lot of sense to have some fallback options just in case. For all we know, Prosise is going to take on Fred Jackson's responsibilities and this kid we just drafted is going to be in a competition with Michael for the backup spot to Rawls.

I wonder if we'll take a flyer on QB, Vernon Adams with our 7th or sign him as an undrafted player... We still need a backup QB...
