Wow... I'm excited that we landed Kenny Lawler... He's not a speedster but he's a tall WR that makes the leaping, acrobatic catches... Reminds me a little of Eddie Royal...

You read way too much into my response. My bad. It was more in the vein of 'it's the interwebs.' Not 'its you.' Why is everything an argument on Hoop?
It just is.
FYI, I wasn't even close to arguing so I'm not sure why you believe that to be the case...
I think stopping the run game is mission #1 for a defense. In our position, it tends to play perfectly into our hands by forcing our opponents to have to throw into the teeth of the LOB.No! All ready drafted a DT that is only useful as a run stuffer, no need to double up.
Even if Rawls is 100%, he hasn't exactly proven that he is an unchallenged #1 RB on a run first team.
I'm really excited about what I saw from him last year. But I've seen many RBs flash in the pan. Not the least bit dissapointed that the Hawks are still making that position a priority.
Which UDFA from this year will make the team?
They've had at least one every year since they came here and several are starters.
Yeah, I also don't think our drafting RBs says much about Rawls in terms of his health. I think to a large degree we are just turning the position over. Won't shock me at all if the only RB who carries over from last season is Rawls. Typically you have 5 on the roster, so drafting a couple guys makes some sense after Lynch retires (or is cut) and Uncle Fred fades away. So now we are a lot younger at the position with 2 guys in Rawls & Collins who can take turns pounding it, a 3rd down guy in Prosise, and then a wildcard in Zac Brooks who probably has to latch on with special teams to stick around. Christine Michael will be fighting for a roster spot.I look at our run (pardon the pun) on running backs as more of a competition for Michael/replacement for Fred Jackson/special teams depth type of thing than as an indication that Rawls isn't coming along as fast as they've said he is. And if Rawls just so happens to be delayed in his recovery, they'll have options. Pete is all about competition and even if he thinks Rawls will be ready to go week 1, that doesn't mean he's not going to come prepared with a backup (pardon that pun too) plan if he isn't. I'm not worried about the running back situation.
Nope haven't heard, but a long shot to make the roster IMO so no big deal either way.Walterfootball is stating that our 7th round pick RB Zac Brooks was a stupid choice because he had already retired from football before the draft to become an interior designer?!?
WTF? Anyone else know anything about that??
In 2016? Yeah, maybe. I can see doing it if you think you are looking at the next Marshall Faulk or Adrian Peterson, especially if you aren't already set up with a top QB. But yeah, if you're building a team around a stud QB you're most likely going to cycle backs every 3 or 4 years anyway, so early picks are probably not necessary for that.it really baffles me beyond belief why ANY team ever takes a RB in the first two rounds.
Eddie Royal is a little quick guy. Lawler looks like bigger type possession guy. But yeah, not much speed at all from looking at his highlights but definitely is a hands catcher and makes the tough grabs in traffic and in the rz. Kearse, Baldwin, Lockett, & Richardson probably leaves only 1 or 2 more spots at WR? Should be a good competition with the 2 former Huskies in the mix from last year as well (Kasen Williams and the other guy I can't think of....#17)Wow... I'm excited that we landed Kenny Lawler... rawls, prosise, and collins looks like a very nice stable of backs.
