Yet another list: NFL Head Coach Power Rankings: Bill Belichick reigns supreme - NFL.com

Here are the top-10

1. Belichick
2. Payton
3. Jim Harbaugh
4. John Harbaugh
5. Coughlin
6. McCarthy
7. Carroll
8. Fox
9. Tomlin
10. Reid

Thought is was interesting that Chip Kelly is ranked 18th. Only one year in Philly, but I thought it was good enough that he probably belongs a little higher on the list.

Marvin Lewis at #15 is stupid high. No way he should be above 22.

Love this quote from that article:

The only downside for Coughlin is the fact the Giants missed the playoffs in 2009, '10, '12 and '13.

What? In another words - have this crazy SB run once in five years & you are top 5 coach. The other years don't matter in the least & any blame for those years lies with everyone else but the coach. Makes sense to me

Ring count seems to carry more weight than it probably should. Makes me wonder why Fox is rated so highly.

With coughlin the question I would ask is would you rather have a coach that every 5 years wins you a Super Bowl but has some streaky play in between or a coach that every year can get you to the playoffs but can't quite win it all?

Im fine with it, it was one season, now is where it gets interesting since teams have had all offseason to make adjustments to this offense, plus the defense wasn't spectacular last season, still a lot of questions in Philly

I think Zimmer should be higher than 28th even without HC'ing experience... Not sure how Garrett is above anyone.

All true, but to implement as much change as he did, improve the record from 4-12 to 10-6, and win the division in his first year in the league was pretty impressive. I recall that many were skeptical when he was hired. I think he showed that he is clearly capable.

It had been 8 years since they had a winning record. Not sure how that is the perfect situation.

Interesting question. Had to think about it a bit. As a fan I would clearly rather have the two SB wins per decade, but in terms of evaluating a coach, I think I'd have to go with the guy who consistently keeps his team in contention, even if he can't get over the top.

Make no mistake I would take the SB rings any day of the week. However - that is absolutely no guarantee for future success & their runs were kind of fluky in a way. No way do I consider Caughlin to be in the top 5 of coaches at this time. If that is the case why were there so many rumblings about him being fired after last season?

Fox & Carroll took Fisher & Shanahan out of the top 10.

Wait until the Seahawks fans see this. Seattle is so disrespected. ;)

Yea ...he was pretty innovative enough to warrant being in the top half.

The crazy thing is that the seasons he really is on the Hot Seat he messes around and wins another Superbowl. If I was a fan of the Giants I'd hope he was on the hot seat every season.

Hard to justify a top 5 ranking for me though.

IMO, John Harbaugh is a lot like Barry Switzer. Got a NFL team loaded with talent that probably could have made the playoffs without a coach.

Harbaugh lost half the defense and he didn't do anything. He really didn't build anything in Baltimore. IMO,

1. Belichick
2. Payton
3. Carroll
4. Jim Harbaugh
5. McCarthy
