they couldn't play AD in NO... You know how the crowed would react, don't you?

Then how do you explain him playing in all 3 previous games, including the one in New Orleans?

Why did you block me from the Warriors: calling the haters and lovers thread?

The same reason I've blocked you from a couple of other threads, the same reason that another mod blocked you from still another thread, the same reason I'm probably going to end up blocking you from this thread and the same reason that you are probably not going to posting anywhere on this site pretty soon.

If you need more explanation than that...I'm sure there are some helpful posters around here who would be more than happy to explain it to you.

Heck, a couple of them will probably even provide quotes for you.

Open it back!

@buckalis

I saw your PM, but I think you blocked me so it won't allow me to respond. Here's the post from the other thread:

Bledsoe is on the wrong side of thirty as is Lopez who are both signed for multiple years. Khris Middleton is on a max contract, but I think he holds value. I like his game a lot. Other than that you don't/won't have financial flexibility once Giannis signs his super-max if that happened. George Hill is signed for nearly 10M a year.

The guys at the end of your bench aren't valuable trade chips. They're just not, at the very least not an asset to attach to a guy like Bledsoe and expect an upgrade.

DiVincenzo is nice, but other than him, the rest of your roster is significantly older. Milwaukee has the 3rd oldest average age roster in the NBA. Guys in their 30's generally do not improve their play.

So yes, I pose the question again, if the Bucks do not win a championship, how can they reasonably expect to get better?

OK... the Bucks are doing two things in parallel

1. Continuously improve the roster...
2. Continuously building towards the future...

Obviously the future depends on age and therefore the (short term) future core is now Giannis, Middleton and Donte, those three are the "untouchables"... everyone else is not "untouchable", but any new addition either through the draft, or via a trade, will be replacing one of the aging ones...

Therefore what you should expect is for the Bucks to add one or two young players for each season that follows...

Obviously the Bucks will enter into the lux tax during the 21/22 season because of Giannis extension, but won't stay into the tax for more than three seasons, because they have timed Middleton's contract expiration with the 3rd season they'll be in the tax.

This doesn't mean that they will waive Khris next, but at the days, Khris will be 32yo and the plan is renew him again (in order to thank him for his services) on a good but lesser long term contract.

Therefore what you should expect is this:

-The Bucks to refuse Ilyasova's T.O. for next season... this will increase the available cash to be invested at 17M for next season (before the lux tax threshold), packed with a couple or three more "deep roster" players, the return on younger players can be awsome...

-The Bucks to move Bledsoe or Brook Lopez out of the starting roster and replace them with younger players. This can be during the next season, or postponed for a season later... But it won't be both moved at the same season, it's one or the other...

All in all, the Bucks financials are exceptionally good to ensure continuously upgrading the roster without ever paying the repeaters tax.

That isn’t a plan, it is a dream.

Expecting random young players (mostly taken at the end of round 1, round 2 or via free agency) to develop and eventually be better than what you are getting from your current vets is highly unlikely.

IYO (which usually is pretty stupid) that might be the case...

Facts are different though, there will be a significant upgrade and improvement of the roster's average age to the younger, already from this season and will continue for the seasons that follow...

Well Middleton's contract just happens to be up after Giannis third year. They didn't "plan" it that way, he signed a full 5 year max and that's when it happens to expire.

If you think Middleton is still playing at an AS-ish level and will take a discount on his last big contract I think you're mistaken. He'll try to get every dollar he can.

So in the grand scheme you think replacing Bledsoe and Lopez with younger players next season will help keep Giannis happy? The Bucks financials are good in that they don't have to pay a repeater tax, but not good enough to add talent. They won't actually have any cap space, they just have space before the luxury tax. That's a huge difference.

No... that was a long term plan, it was the reason why Giannis was signed on a 4 years and not 5 years extension after his rookie contract.

If you think Middleton is still playing at an AS-ish level and will take a discount on his last big contract I think you're mistaken. He'll try to get every dollar he can.
oh yeah, the Bucks will pay him the more they can at the time, but no 32-year old can get a long term max starting at his 32... he will get a long term from the Bucks that will last till his career ends.

So in the grand scheme you think replacing Bledsoe and Lopez with younger players next season will help keep Giannis happy? Oh, the financials are surely great to keep adding into the roster... If Bledsoe for instance will be moved next season, the return of players can be over 35M of worth...

No that's not how it works. The Bucks will be over the NBA salary cap. They can only acquire a player within a percentage of what Bledsoe's contract is. If the Bucks had 17M in actual cap space, then they could do that. But they don't. The 17M is space before the luxury tax threshold.
