Same. I want to play Jedi: Survivor and my system is just below minimum specs. I've been putting this off too long anyway.

I'm in the middle of researching right now to pick my parts.

I built a complete new system on the day the 13900k came out in october… everything but graphics card… which is was only 15 months old at the time. It was less expensive than i thought it would be. I just went to get the cpu/mobo/ram, realized i should get a new psu too… and said fuck it… too much cool stuff i wanted. New water cooler, new case, 9 new fans… even rgb power cable extensions for mobo and gpu. Prices have dropped alot since. I think i spent about $2800… and sent my 3yr old 9900k system to one of my nephews.

Those GPUs are still off on price though. I'm probably going to end up getting a 4070 ti, but I know the price is too high for it.

Shred my 1st stab at a build.

Still iffy on case. Might drop to an assassin x 120 instead of the AIO. Actual brand of the GPU TBD, depending on price.

Need a monitor, too.

Bump your mobo up to an X### model. If your mobo and cpu are capable of quad core capable, use 4 sticks of ram. If you don't plan on streaming your games and recording them at the same time, the AMD 7 will be enough. The AMD 7 cpu you chose has integrated graphics, which will not be used as you chose a graphics card. Be prepared to change your water cooler if you go with another case.

I bought the 011 dynamic evo, which offers some way over priced options & Alternate locations for front panel io. I like its looks, its lacking for space in the behind the motherboard, but i do have a lot of stuff i would like to put in but cant. (Like two 4tb wd blacks.) Even took the drive cage out because of space. Mostly because of long cables for gpu and cpu. Cable mod wants $180 for 5 custom length psu cables

I paid $2119.99 tax included for the 3080ti on release day during gpu shortages. I chose that card though, could have bought the Evga 3080ti for $1399. ($600 for ROG Strix Brand name, better cooling and trusted name, ASUS has never failed me going back to pentium 166mmx days) I wont be upgrading for 2 yrs probably, 5080ti or 6080ti...

What's wrong with the mobo? I thought I was going relatively top of the line with a B650 for the Ryzen 7?
I'm not a streamer either, and if I feel I need to expand later, I can always buy another two sticks. I thought 32GB seemed like plenty?

To cases:
I'm not showing off my PC internals. My case sits off to the left near the wall anyway, where you can't see anything. So what I really am looking for are good thermal performance and low noise. Any RGB is wasted.

My current case is a CoolerMaster HAF 932. I love this case, it's massive and glorious, but the headers are well out of date now, and I want a modern design that isolates the PSU.

Other than that Lian Li 011, I'm considering the Fractal Design Meshify 2, Fractal Design Define 7, CoolerMaster MasterBox NR600.

Top of the line would be the X670E mobos. B650 will be fine if you don't plan on upgrading the computer later. The X series will be ready for the 5.x gpu's coming later.

for the Ryzen 7?

I found it interesting that Tom's hardware had the 7800 3D ranked the best, but when compared elsewhere, the 7700X was putting up netter numbers. The 7700X had a better 5.2V overclock, lower power consuption and is less expensive. The higher L3 cache on the 7800 3D is massive.

32GB of ram is plenty (and depending on who you listen to, overkill.) I have used G. Skill since it was released.

Have you looked at the NZXT line (H7)?

32 gb is overkill if youre only gaming and browsing. The only reason i got 64 is that they had no 8gb ddr5 sticks, and i wanted all 4 slots filled.

I think hes talking about dual chambers and not just a cover for the psu. Ie corsair air 540, lian li 011 dynamic xl, or The corsair 680x etc…

I think I will revise my Mobo to get one that has a PCIe 5.0 slot. Best to future-proof everything since I would want this board to last me 5 years.

There are 2 memory channels in the 7800X3D, so I wouldn't be getting any performance gain with 4 sticks anyway.

I'm not really into the styling of NZXT cases. I've usually gravitated to Lian Li and Cooler Master's. I keep forgetting to measure my space to make sure everything is going to fit, and I want to elevate my new case and put the APC underneath it. It's all kind of in a nook right now and if I elevate things, I think I can get some better airflow. So I think case in the end will be my last decision and will come down to some practical factors that I haven't entirely ironed out yet.

Graphics card and most anything else will fit in the front side of the lian li 011 dynamic. Long psu cables will eat up the back side space.

Gonna have to make sure to have that BIOS up to date. But I would have anyway.

I'm not going to be overclocking out of the box with this anyway. I'm getting high-end, and it's not like it's going to be a bottleneck at stock settings right now. That's something to think about for 2025-ish.

And I'll avoid messing with any EXPO timing gains too.

Will be sad if that 1.3v ram limit screws dynamic performance overall.

The 7900 XT cards just dropped to under $800, so I might be switching up from the 4070 TI now, too.
