We better at least dictate the tempo physically tonight or it will be a wasted game. Minus Kreider, they are a much smaller, less physical team than we are and we need to exploit that.

They need to establish a good body of work from the opening face off. Work for pucks especially along the boards, finish your checks but don't go hunting for them, make nice simple plays instead of trying to dazzle. They basically need to do everything they do when their winning games and try not to get sucked into the emotional rivalry side at least these first 2 games at MSG, they have enough to worry about with the bad ice without trying to settle scores or anything of the like. I just really hope the refs step it up a notch and stop being completely horrible like they have been league wide this year.

Another thing I'm a big fan of having Akeson in over Downie, I could see Downie being a huge liability in this series due to his temper.

Awaz I did the same thing, it was a reset beard for good luck and it's worked so far. I'm not shaving mine from here on out, even though there are areas I will trim such as above my upper lip that tickle sensation drives me crazy.

Three guys that really need to turn up the wick that have been forgotten in all of this good banter about physicality are Simmonds, who will bring the hits, and the Giroux/Vorachek combination that has been so recently explosive. If That Giroux/Vorachek combo gets rolling early and we pound the krap out of these guys, I don't find any reason why we don't come away from this game without a win.

This team feeds off of Giroux and if he brings it tonight in all of the categories that makes him the great captain that he is, everyone will be playing excellent hockey at a high level. The key will be keeping the Rags from scoring first. If they get an early lead, the team energy will suffer, and it will be more difficult to make a comeback although it won't be entirely out of the question.

Well, last time we played the Rangers in the playoffs, we went to the finals.
