What is exactly the issue with Mason?? I have watched the play over and over from the other night to see where this "upper body injury" takes place and I still don't see it. His head never hits the crossbar, no stick to the face, etc, like I stated before the only thing out of the ordinary was his one leg got caught under him and was bend in an awkward position. This makes no sense to me that he is out for the first couple games, especially when the team needs him the most when the games finally have meaning!

Im with you on this i didnt see anything out of the ordinary in that collision and if they said lower body injury i would be able to understand why mase is out. This is rather puzzling. :noidea:

I'm not sure if you've ever had the back of your head slam off the ice surface or not but that can rattle you for a while. I'm not saying that's what happened to Mase but it's a possibility. It's also possible he has a muscle pull due to the awkwardness of the collision he absorbed and having no way to protect himself really as he was recovering from making a save. Hell it could all just be precautionary or some big time mind fuck for the Rags, we won't know until we know. The thing is the one position you don't want a guy playing hurt in (unless it is something insanely minor like a broken finger) is goalie, his movement could be restricted or his focus could be off trying to protect the injury and if a weakness is noticed it will be exploited. Give him a game or 2, Razor will fight hard to keep the team in the game and then it's up to the boys to tickle some twine.

Emery might actually be the better option for this series. Has a better record against the Rangers than Mason, especially at MSG.

At the end of the day, I think it's hard to say that one guy is the better option than the other in this series - the whole team has to play well, not just one guy

I think Mason is the better goalie overall, but Emery might not be a bad option for this series. I agree, it's really more about team play than the play of the goalie.

We better at least dictate the tempo physically tonight or it will be a wasted game. Minus Kreider, they are a much smaller, less physical team than we are and we need to exploit that.

Awaz I did the same thing, it was a reset beard for good luck and it's worked so far. I'm not shaving mine from here on out, even though there are areas I will trim such as above my upper lip that tickle sensation drives me crazy.
