So is Jim Kelly a better QB than Dan Marino because he made it to more SB's?

:pound:
Now you try to change the discussion. We were talking about head coaches and not QB's.

Both are good coaches, but I think Holmgren is the more likely candidate than Cowher. Cowher likes the studio gig.

You lose the argument and then change the conversation... Typical of you.

That I can agree with.

:pound:

:wtf2: This is totally :lame:. Only you DJ would take a conversation about 2 SB winning HC's & try to compare them to 2 HOF QB's that never won it all.

Thanks Wamu but I already told him that. DJ will always be a pain in the ass.

Because he SAID Holmgren made it to more SB's so therefore he's better. I went by his rules.

Your original comment was Holmgren had a better winning % (regular season and postseason) and then you changed the discussion when you were proven wrong.

I never mentioned winning percentage. Head coaches are ultimately judged on number of Super Bowls.

So what? He was talking about 2 SB winning HC's & for no reason at all you mentioned 2 HOF QB's that didn't get rings. Your comparison of HC's to former QB's was pointless.

Lucky, nobody wants to trade our 1st and 2nd for JH.. I would take their 1st and 2nd, as well as JH for our top 5 pick.. Its a deep draft.. And whats a top 5 pick worth?? 2 FIRST and a Second.. Let's say JH is worth a 1st, and we swap our 1st round picks, plus their second.. Its a good deal imo.. Hopefully he comes free though..
And i agree with the rest of the bloggers on here.. You really can't go wrong with either Holmgren or the Chin..

If we strike out on JH?? We should move quickly and try to get David Shaw!! He is the next JH imo.. But with less drama!! Cmon old man Willie, get in his ear!! Some rumors out there, that he is on the list of HCs the falcon's would want..

There are certainly enough factors that effect opinions on the competence of RM, on the one hand, a pretty dismal draft his first year, the trade down to take a CB w a serious as well as life threatening injury was certainly puzzling, fortunately, it appears patience may pay off in respect to DJ Hayden. However, letting Veldheer and Houston walk in FA still stinks like a turd in the punch bowl, especially considering the farcical attempt to sign a less qualified player, who, fortunately I might add, couldn't pass the physical. These head-scratchers left me wondering what was going on up there.

One the positive side of the ledger we can put a pretty successful 2nd draft class, and a few FA signings that have provided some valuable leadership, specifically the seemingly ageless C Woodson, and I think Tuck has been a plus.

Most encouraging of all has been the lack of drama coming from a team that struggled immensely but didn't melt down in the midst of an epic losing string, this says something about the character of this team, and for that I give Reggie a lions share of the credit, Raider teams of the last decades have suffered through enough lockerroom cancer to realize how valuable strong character is.

Reggie wasn't hired as an experienced GM, he has learned while he earned, and I think that should also be taken to account, while far from perfect, most signs point to him making substantial progress as he attempts to revive our fortunes.
I don't think top flight GMs were knocking at our door to come to our rescue, or HCs either, if they are now, then that also says something about the "change of culture" that our current staff have brought about. We knew this wasn't an overnight transformation, I think he deserves a chance to see this thing through.

If the Raiders are able to bring in one of the top HC candidates for next season that will validate the progress that the team has made since RM joined the franchise.

Tuck has been playing better in the last 5 games, but he was useless earlier in the season.

Woodley needs to be released.

Why the delay in firing Sparano & rest of this unqualified coaching staff? I don't mind if they bring TS back as O-line coach, but I don't mind if they let him walk either. Our O was horrendous, especially the run. These firings should have been announced at 10AM. :gaah:

There is speculation that Sparano will actually be kept as the Head Coach now. At least those who were listening to his press conference today seemed to think like it sounded that way. It could have just been him trying to convince Mark Davis he should stay on as Head Coach.

Mangini coming in for interview. I would prefer to keep Sparano over that worthless slob. Here's my rankings (these just come to mind):

1. Jack Del Rio (with kick-ass O coord)
2. Mike Holmgren
3. Steve Mariuchi
4. Mike Smith
5. Rex Ryan
6. Sparano
7. My pet iguana, Iggy

PS: I would entertain any coordinator (O or D) from SEA or NE, provided they are HC ready.

This came from Raider writers who were at his press conference so it is not me that is trippin. Talk to them. I'm just passing on what I have read.
