Nets think they match up well against Heat

The Brooklyn Nets may have needed seven games to dispatch the Toronto Raptors but they like the way they matchup with the defending champion Miami Heat.

The Nets arrived in Miami fresh off their Game 7 win over the Raptors feeling confident about their much-anticipated matchup with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the champs.

"I think we match-up great," Joe Johnson said of facing the Heat. "Because having Paul [Pierce] at the four, I think they'll have more of a smaller four, and probably not as physical. So I think it could kind of play into our hands a little bit, but we'll see what happens."

Well they were 4-0 against them this year so I can understand some confidence.

I agree, but PP isn't the same as he has been in the past. Doesn't matter, no one can stop or even limit Lebron on Brooklyn

It's been a little overstated IMO, considering 3 games were decided by 1 point and the other was decided in double overtime.

Not to mention the fact that Wade missed 2 of those games and Lopez played in one.

Miami is a better matchup for them than Toronto.

Miami is an old team. The young legs of the Raptors wore them down in the 4th quarter most of the games.

That wont be the case as the HEAT are actually a little bit older than the Nets.

I still think Miami wins, but the matchup is one that Brooklyn can handle a little better.

Nets played really well down the stretch of games 6 and 7.

I could see that series going 7.

The age factor of PP worries me a bit, but I like BRK in this series too. MIA can't be confident Dwade can go full tilt the whole series.

Also that 2 of the first 4 games were played before Jan. 2 (Nov. 1st and Jan.1st) Nets legs are more tired than they were over 5mos ago.

Other than losing the series, the last thing Brooklyn wanted was a 7 game opeing round series with little rest going into round 2.

Will this finally be the series the Heat unveil Oden?? If I recall, they were saving him for the playoffs but didn't see him vs. CLT.

Pierce always steps up against Lebron. Now he has Johnson, Williams, Livingston, and other guys to help him out. I could see it going 7, but I have the Heat in 6. A bunch of close game in this series.

They were saving him for Indiana and Hibbert. But he might not be needed at all, maybe if they were to play SA in th finals.

There's no reason to play him in this series. The nets are a small team and their big men mainly play outside anyway so Bosh and Bird will be the centers this series. With the way hibbert is playing, I'm not sure if oden will see meaningful minutes in the playoffs at all.

Oden is not even the answer to Hibbert as it is. Haslem is.

I still really hope we see some Oden this playoffs, love his work ethic.

I truly believe the Raptors would have given the Heat a tough battle.
