Here is all I need to know about this honestly. The Steelers need a qb as much as anyone and Mike Tomlin is as much of a player coach as there is in the league. He just is. I simply won’t buy that Tomlin was told no if he wanted to stick his neck out for the kid. He didn’t,
Rodgers and Sanders on the same team?

LOL.

There was no reason to plan for Rodgers, he has strung them along and will be a horrible decision for a once proud franchise.

That he wasn’t the 6th or 7th best Qb in the draft. Gms and coaches likely wanted to draft him but the owner said no. If it’s about talent and etc then he goes 3rd round at latest. There were other non football factors that led to this
There is so much more to being an NFL qb than just pure talent. If he had more he’d be worth the headache or perceived headache. But he doesn’t so he’s not. It’s not complicated or shady, you’re worth what the market says you’re worth

It might be the best thing that could have happened, a wake up call and a humbling moment maybe he is extra motivated to prove the doubters wrong

The thing with Shadeur was politics as well, sure, but he should have distanced himself from how his father carries himself. Deion is one of the most natural athletes in sports history, he also didnt play qb. Shadeur obviously approached interviews like he was Deion Jr and not Shadeur. Coupled with his father talking his son up like he was 83 Elway led to his demise.

This is not a race thing Tim Tebow could have hung on in the league as a perfectly decent backup. But every time the starter faltered you would have thousands of people calling for Tebow. Cant have that. Same deal with Kapernick, and to a lesser extent Manziel.

If a guy is more trouble than he is worth then a team will choose the easier route.

On a completely unrelated note…

How about that little league home run on a dribbler that barely gets to the depth of the mound haha? I was dying laughing. You guys are first place now right?

Mason Rudolph could have done that
Pittsburgh is a proud football town and they have some intelligent sports fans who could understand the value of a tank. But they brought Tomlin back. They brought in Metcalf. Pickens rumors are swirling. They have to present to the fans that they’re trying. If you start Mason Rudolph you’re sending a mixed message to the fans.

The real fans know Rodgers is cooked and an idiot though.

Now NCAA programs have GMs? I misread the headline at first and thought the Kings hired him, which would not be out of step with other front office decisions they've made over the past two decades.
