Bohm's defense is easily one of the worst at baseball at 3rd base. He will not be at third base long.Of course you do.
You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. He made great progress this year as a defender and that’s in a year where he was asked to move around and play both 1B and 3B.
Typical. If a Guardian does something well it’s nothing but praise from you but if any one else does well you have to provide some mitigating circumstances. You’d think the Guardians have multiple World Series titles in the past few decades talking to you about them and yet we all know that’s not the case. They’re small market Little Engine That Could fluke trash that will never win big.
Fuck your metrics dork. Billy Beane never won a playoff series. Bohm made huge strides this year in the field and on the plate. You don’t watch baseball. You watch spread sheets. Good luck to the Guardians this weekBohm's defense is easily one of the worst at baseball at 3rd base. He will not be at third base long.
Fielding Bible is one of the most legit sites for DRS- but you can go to any site and see how badly Bohm is ranked. Here he is at a -9. Makes him about the 2nd or 3rd worst in baseball.
Defensive stats are not exactly great- and every site has a different metric- but whatever the metric Bohm is generally considered awful at defense.
I don't know, watching in back-to-back plays seeing Notre Dame only play 10 players on defense points towards the coordinator being the issue. But yes, maybe Golden PTSD....maybe.You may still have Al Golden PTSD. He’s been pretty solid in that post at ND so far. He’s been much better than either of Freeman’s OCs.
If we’re judging everyone at their worst…also the responsibility for that is on the player and position coach.I don't know, watching in back-to-back plays seeing Notre Dame only play 10 players on defense points towards the coordinator being the issue. But yes, maybe Golden PTSD....maybe.
The Phillies have the 4th easiest stadium to hit a home run in according to the 3 year running average.Fuck your metrics dork. Billy Beane never won a playoff series. What was his home park last year when he hit 13? You don’t even know what you’re talking about. He’s not a pull hitter. Again spreadsheet boy…watch the fucking game and know the player you’re talking about. The Phillies have the 4th easiest stadium to hit a home run in according to the 3 year running average.
You don’t watch baseball. Your opinion is limited because all you do is watch spreadsheetsBohm is easily one of the worst 3rd base defenders in basebal.
And…He is 27- a former 3rd overall pick who went to college, in his 4th season he finally go to the 20 homer mark.
Josh Naylor is garbage that you over inflate because you can’t afford to fund a real baseball team.ESPN- which inflates WAR more than just about any other service- has him at 0.5 WAR for the season- which is wretched. FanGraphs has him at 1.1 WAR.
just for comparison- Fangraphs has Josh Naylor at 2.5 WAR.
You should watch him play Tuesday and Wednesday night. You won’t be distracted by a Guardians game.turns out a 3rd basemen - with shaky defense at best- one of the worst in MLB at worst, a .325 OBP, and 20 homers is not worth that much on the field. Especially when 20 homers doesnt even put you in the top half at your position in baseball. What he is "best" at is still not even top half in the league
by any type of analysis Bohm is a below average 3rd basemen in the major leagues- which is a HUUUGe dissapointment for a former 3rd overall pick that had such heavy expectations.
According to a guy who doesn’t watch baseball.Bohm's career WAR- in about 450 games is 0.7 (according to ESPN)....he has played basically like a replacement level player since being a Philly.
lol......yah I dont watch baseball- gmafb....What was his home park last year when he hit 13? You don’t even know what you’re talking about. He’s not a pull hitter. Again spreadsheet boy…watch the fucking game and know the player you’re talking about.

He carried the Phillies early in the season and was their best hitter with runners in scoring position.lol......yah I dont watch baseball- gmafb....
dude- you just dont know much. Bohm kinda sucks. it is what it is. Not even you would call him a "good" defender. A .325 OBP is pretty bad for a guy who has below average power at his position. He does not do anything well and he does certain things very poorly.
Can he run? No. Can he hit for average? not really- not terrible but certainly not good. Does he get on base? no. Does he hit for power? some- but less than the average 3rd basemen even though he hits a hitters park. Is his defense good? Absolutely not- its somewhere in between below average and atrocious.
He’s the Guardians best baseball player. Bohm is the Phillies 6th or 7th best baseball player.Naylor- 3 less homers in 110 less at bats. Can Naylor hit for average? he ceertainly did this year. -.308. Does he get on base? .354 OBP is above average. Does he hit for power? Some though- below average for his position- he did hit 31 doubles- the same as Bohm- in 20% less at bats- and plays half his games in a slightly pitchers stadium instead of an extreme hitters stadium. Can he run? No- slow as hell- but he does know how to run the bases and had 10 steals- one of the better base running first basemen. Can he field? Pretty solid fielder at first base- especially on digging balls out of the dirt.
I don’t care about where he was drafted. Nobody does except you. You are always stuck on prospect evaluation because in the end you’re a fan of a minor league baseball team stealing money and masquerading as a real MLB franchise. Any time someone on the Guardians gets developed they get traded away because they won’t pay them. That’s why your focus is what it is.ESPN WAR- 2.4. Fan Graphs 2.5. for Naylor.
Bohm just does not do anything above average and does quite a few things below average. For being drafted 3rd overall he has been a huge dissapointment.
Naylor is the Guardians best position player? lol....have you ever heard of Jose Ramirez? Andres Gimenez as 6th in the AL MVP voting last year- and followed it up with a 15 homer, 30 SB season and will likely win ANOTHER gold glove. He carried the Phillies early in the season and was their best hitter with runners in scoring position.
He’s the Guardians best baseball player. Bohm is the Phillies 6th or 7th best baseball player.

I didn’t. I said that you overrate Naylor. At the end of the day through a 162 game schedule someone has to post some numbers for a shitty offense and a shitty team.I mean - this is not even a close comparison. No one that follows baseball and knows anything about the game could possibly make the argument that Bohm had close to the season Naylor had- let alone better.
I said Naylor is the Guardians best player and that Bohm is the Phillies 7th best player. It is not even a close argument. I certainly dont think WAR and OPS etc. are the end-all be all- but when every single possible advanced statistic for multiple different services says Naylor has been WAY better- and OPS backs it up- you are just making an argument out of thin air to say otherwise.
I would hope a guy with a 1.1 WAR would be 6th or 7th.I didn’t. I said that you overrate Naylor. At the end of the day through a 162 game schedule someone has to post some numbers for a shitty offense and a shitty team.
I said Naylor is the Guardians best player and that Bohm is the Phillies 7th best player.
Enjoy watching my team with a real MLB payroll play ball this October. I will.
Gimenez feel off the face of the earth when the league got a book on him. Again…you’re overinflating a Guardian. If Ramirez was as good as you think he is he would have been traded already just like any other talented Guardian gets traded away from that slop franchise.Naylor is the Guardians best position player? lol....have you ever heard of Jose Ramirez? you are embarrassing yourself.
^^^Spreadsheets again. Doesn’t watch the game.I would hope a guy with a 1.1 WAR would be 6th or 7th.
yes. 15 homers, 30 steals, gold glove defense is overating.Gimenez feel off the face of the earth when the league got a book on him. Again…you’re overinflating a Guardian.
