Free agency in the NFL is weird though.

Teams who make a lot of splashy free agent signings often don’t tend to do that well. Got to build the cheap talent through the draft in the NFL!
agreed......this conversation was just about whether players would go to Houston if they didn't trade Watson if Watson wont report.

Right. And they still would if Houston was the top bidder.

Not the NBA...players in NFL will go where the money is.

Agree. Players in the NFL have a smaller window to make their money than NBA players. They really have no choice but to go to whoever will pay them the most.

And, unless they are are an elite, Brady level star, they aren't getting nearly as much as an NBA player when they do get "paid".

I mean, in a city like Cleveland, coming off some awful years in the last 3-4 years or so, could argue the top C, guard, RT and TE on the market came here. Have to think if willing to pay FAs will forget what happened with Watson and go to Houston.

Did you hear yet that Josh Gordon's back in football? He's now teammates with Johnny Lightning (aka Johnny outta football) in whatever-the-fuck that league is called. :pound: And I got the perfect mentor for them. Michael Irvin.

When I heard that the first thing I thought was Gordon teaming up with Johnny Dollarz is something the onion would make up.

Gordon actually has talent, he’s just a fn moron. Much better than being a talentless moron.

That's white-washing it a bit. My response was to Houston willingly sitting on Watson and ending his career if he didn't report.

Well, it's an easy argument to make that they shouldn't be testing for weed anyway, given the spread of legalization. He's dumb, but a bit of a victim of the system too.

No one is a victim if they know the rules.

Yeah, we can debate all day whether or not weed should be against the rules (it shouldn't be, imo). But you can't really call someone a victim when they know the rules and violate them just because they don't agree with them.

It's a good example of why leaving things for states to regulate isn't always the best policy if your employment can hinge on that regulation. Special interests being involved in the creation of those laws is also problematic.

The Feds just need to re-classify cannabis. That would go a long way to resolving the issues around it.

Might actually happen with the current administration, but tough to tell with old man Biden.
