Yeah the teams will give to give him what he wants now have the advantage but as far as compensation, CLE is up there. That doesn't mean much. If the Yankees or Dodgers get him it will make me sick. Doesn't really make sense for the Yankees since they didn't even offer Judge anything yet.

I was thinking the Braves is an option but I don't think they would trade him to a team in the divison.

The Cubs? They have awhile to go to be good and they just sold off their players. Baez, Rizzo and Bryant. Looks like Contreras is on the move, maybe they are looking to build around a player. An option.

Who knows at this point. I just hope he goes to a team other than the Yanks, Dodgers, Red Sox or Astros.

Can't speak to the Yankees as I'm unsure of their farm system, so I don't know what they can offer (financially they could add him).

But if the Dodgers want him, they likely will get him...not sure they want him though. Although, if Bellinger doesn't get going pretty soon, they may become interested.

Sure but with the change of ownership, yes it isn't official for years and the extremely low payroll the next two seasons it doesn't seem as unlikely as previous years. Does it happen? I give it a 5% or less but if there was a time to make this move, it's now. The team is extremely young. Adding Soto to the lineup would be immense.
What I’m saying is that the Indians don’t make this move. There isn’t “a time” to make this move for them. Even new ownership isn’t going to change this dynamic or the business model. What kind of tv money does the Indians contract generate? The big spenders are big spenders not based on gate or concessions or stuff like that. It’s because of massive tv deals. Cleveland is always going to be a smaller TV market and you have multiple franchises in a relatively small geographic region with the Reds Indians and Pirates. It’s taking an already meh area for tv money and bow allegiance is split between 3 franchises. Even with new owners, the Indians will be bottom 3rd in the league for payroll. New owners should keep them from being bottom 3-5 in payroll though. Long story short, a guy like Soto who is going to sign for like $40 million a year isn’t going to be an add for them. They can’t afford to send out 6-7-8 prospects to make this happen either for them to keep their business model intact.

The Dodgers will end up with him.

Watch.

The Cards just overpaid Murray.

Holy fuck.
Yep. That’s the way of the QB. You need to overpay or move the fuck on. The going rate for QBs is astronomical now. This is why Jimmy G is getting traded. They decided he isn’t worth the overpay because like it or not, that’s where we are.

Agreed. Dodgers have the purse to pay him and they have the farm to get the trade done to get him there.

They are trading Jimmy G because they traded a bunch of picks to draft Lance and figure he needs to start now (Lance held a clipboard much of last season).

Jimmy G at his price is a freaking bargain right now.

LOL.
I doubt professionals who evaluate fit and talent for an NFL team is placing the entirety of an evaluation on a single football game especially when his entire season can be separated between with Hopkins and without. With Hopkins they were one of the best offenses in the league. Their number 1 WR post Hopkins injury is now their number 3 WR. I’m wait and see still on Murray. I still think he can be a top 10 QB and a winner. His game is very unique. If they want to keep him, the new NFL says you have to overpay.

They don’t make that pick if they were already sold on paying Jimmy G.

Seattle needs to call SF about Jimmy G.

Geno and Drew suck.
Why? There will be at least 3 if not 4 or 5 QBs available in the 2023 draft better than Jimmy G. So they go from 3 wins to 6 or 7 wins? What the fuck does that do? They’re better suited letting this shit bottom out running fluke trash out weekly at QB and getting the QB of the future for cheap. Why give up a single asset for a stop gap QB when the rest of the team isn’t ready to compete anyway?

I don't want them to get Jimmy G. He can be brittle as it is and the Seahawks o-line isn't good.

They are better off taking their beating this year and getting a QB in the draft. They have enough capital with the 12's to get away with a 4-13 season to get a high draft pick.

Jimmy G is good enough to get them to 7 or so wins before the o-line gets him killed.

If Drew Lock is your teams starter the Seahawks are screwed.

Got nothing against him. But I've watched every games he's played in. He was given every opportunity to win the starting job here and couldn't. I don't think he's starting QB material.

Seahawks have a chance to recreate the Russell Wilson situation they won a Super Bowl with:
Competent and cheap young QB which frees up cap to invest in the rest of the team.
*One other thing that should be mentioned about that era is the exceptional drafting they did. They were finding Pro Bowlers in like round 5 and 6.

You’re really stepping out here. Drew Lock…not going to be a successful season.

That's the point. The Seahawks need to tank this season so they can get a better QB in the next draft. Tanking will be a lot easier to achieve with Drew Lock than with an actual competent QB like Jimmy G.

Lock pretty much guarantees a tank...

obtw, laughed about this on the NFL board. Kyler Miurray just got P-A-Y-E-D!!! lol i remember when folks lost their minds over Mahomes' contract. he's starting to look like a bargain now...well, kinda...
