Regions don’t matter anymore. In fact, it all makes sense when you think about it. The reason mega conferences work is because they get so large that they need to break into pods. If you expand coast to coast you create viability in your pods as regional entities.
It’s going to be split north and south soon. Two super conferences, only a matter of time. They likely expand the playoff too. Money talks

Based on what we are used to, sure....but CFB will clearly look a lot different in a few years.

Yeah, I just hate it though

Maryland went from being a traditional rival of UVA to absolutely nothing overnight when they moved to the Big 10.

To me, college sports are made by those rivalries. And I think a lot of them will get lost, or at least watered down.

I can see it your way and I'm sure I'd see it differently if my alma mater was not among the elite schools.

Even as an OSU grad I would not have minded status quo as far as conferences go.....Just wanted something uniform among the conferences. Like 9 conference games, at least 1 P5 opponent and no FCS teams (at least if you want to be considered for the CFP). Also an expanded CFP to 8 or 12.

Agree. I really don't like cfb losing some of it's great rivalries.

I'm glad that USC announced that the move won't effect the rivalry with ND and, from what I heard, they also were unwilling to make the move without UCLA included to preserve that rivalry as well. I'm hoping they'll be able to keep playing Stanford although that isn't nearly as important as the Domers and UCLA.
