Not saying I believe him but he called the Watson trade way before it happened. I still expect a 6- 10 suspension but the crazy thing now is the NFL has basically no leverage. If Judge Robinson says no suspension, the NFL can't do anything. Pretty crazy Watson has more leverage at this point

May be a little too soon to say NFL has no leverage since it's pretty much up to RG with any actual suspension.

Well considering reports are there they won't appeal a suspension, they don't have the leverage they did before. That is certain.

Not sure either side cares much about reports. Was a time there were reports a year suspension was most likely and now it seems like less seems more likely.

with a suspension they don't like the NFL could still say we are going to appeal unless you either pay back your salary for last season or accept more games (and they appeal RG decides)

Agree things look a little better for him now than last week.

I've been disillusioned ever since my Orange left the Big East for the ACC. Everyone talked about the bump in recruiting that would happen. Their biggest recruit remains Carmelo, from the Big East days. It's all about TV money and nothing else. Any conferences/divisions should be purely regional, can separate for college size where necessary.

Sure, teams like Ohio State and USC can easily afford the travel across the country. Can Rutgers to that same level? How is that fair to fans and students? -->How the hell does Rutgers belong in the same conference as USC?<--

Because...

long/indefinite, I agree. Tough to make a case even for a short one but personal conduct policy is vague enough to do it.

Honestly, I'm not even sure the NFL wants a long suspension. Especially since it wont help out the team who was added to the suit (Houston). Might just be saying this so they can tell the public they tried.

Ran across an interesting article.

Deshaun Watson's four active lawsuits revealed after dismissal notices filed in court (from usatoday)

The 4 remaining cases.

1. Woman is accusing Watson of sexual assault in August of 2020. She also claims in a previous encounter he groped her. So he did something outta line and she took him back as a client? She claimed he used a fake name the first time and she didn't know who he really was.

2. Next woman was one of the first two to file a law suit. She's a licensed massage therapist. She says he exposed himself.

3. She claims he came to her mother's house (which sounds really odd) for a massage. She says he exposed himself and began playing with himself during a second encounter. Another one that had a bad first appointment and booked a second one?

4. She was the first one to file a law suit. Watson even texted her an apology after the massage in March of '20, May of '22 Watson admitted in a pretrial deposition she was "teary-eyed" but didn't know why.

Watson's attorney's have noted problems with her case after she said during a news conference last year she can no longer practice the profession she loves without shaking.

Then Watson's attorney's said this in court last year- "Not only is she still accepting clients, but according to those who have worked with her, she did not show any signs of trauma during these sessions."

Yikes. Phillies starter Kyle Gibson just threw back to back to back to back HRs in the 1st inning. All 4 came with two outs, haha. Not a great start to this one.

Makes more sense than USC or UCLA
Disagree. There much more TV and bowl money available for them in the B10 or SEC. Given those two choices the university profile fits much better in the B10 than the SEC. The regional nature of conferences is on hiatus. You’ll see it return as the B10 and SEC grow to 24 members a piece and then they’ll create regional pods for scheduling as well as pods to make traveling more manageable for women’s and Olympic sports.

It was obviously a joke.

But I hate the conferences pooling together

If the B1G does add ND it will be interesting what other team makes sense. Maybe Stanford or Pitt? Pitt makes a lot of sense and they have a rivalry with Penn St

I think it would be Stanford more so than Pitt. PSU would lobby against Pitt and want to be the only in state school that is in the B10. I think that if ND comes in the B10 will shop in the ACC with basketball schools like Duke and NC. The SEC will shop the ACC for football schools like Clemson and FSU. Miami is a wild card. Their recent results have been meh because of mismanagement and poor leadership at the coach and administrative level. But that’s fertile recruiting territory.
