Not sure I buy this entirely...but do think if traded it might even be likely it's to a team no one is expecting.

I think Baker to the Seahawks could be a mistake for both the Seahawks and Baker.

Baker to the Bucs is interesting...a season learning from Brady, then Baker takes over.

Wow.

Could work as long as the Bucs aren’t expecting Aaron Rodgers waiting in the wings for Favre.

Baker is closer to what they had with Jameis.

Post this in the Is Baker a bust thread? LOL.

"The report goes on to state that the surprise team is likely one of four teams: The Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers or New Orleans Saints."

Arizona would be intriguing with Murray acting all funky this offseason.

Detroit would also be interesting. Somebody to push Goff who is likely gone after next season.

That requires ante-ing up for Baker next summer without really seeing him play. Can't see that one happening.

I have kind of talked myself into liking it.

I don't like leaving the PAC, but Larry Scott had completely fucked the conference to the point that it was going to take years to catch up to the B1G and SEC financially. That's assuming they even could.

I also know that USC also hasn't been happy that, as the PACs ''flagship program'', they haven't been treated with the same type of respect that tOSU and Alabama get from their conferences.

Add to that the fact that from what I have seen, right now, PAC teams get $30 million while B1G teams get $100 million. That number for the B1G is expected to jump significantly now that the B1G will be in the LA market. That alone makes the move a bit of a no brainer.

I also like that it opens up the Midwest for recruiting. California is great for skill position players, LBs and DBs. Not so much for 5* O and D linemen. They should be able to get more of those now.

USC has said that the ND rivalry game won't be affected and UCLA joining ensures that rivalry will continue as well. So that helps a lot.

Do these changes take effect for all sports for these schools? Do the programs with less monetary support still have to travel to the midwest for most of their away games? Or all the way to NJ (Rutgers)?

Meh.

It's going to be interesting to see what UCLA does. Through their history they have been a mid-levelish team in the PAC for football choosing to focus more on basketball.

The move to the B1G is going to put more money in their coffers than they've ever had before. Will they dump a bunch of money into football and try to turn themselves into a football power? Or will they choose to use it bolster basketball since Cronin has them back to being a top program again?

I know USC will spend a sizeable chunk on football and I expect basketball as well since Enfield has got them making the tourney. But I'm hoping they'll use some to build the baseball program back up. They used to have one of the best baseball programs in the country, but I don't think they've even made the baseball playoffs in about 10 years.

I don't think all sports are going to the B1G...at least not at USC. Even if they do, each school will be getting more than 3x what they get now and with money that is expected to come with the B1G being in the LA market, even more than that. So the cost of those teams travelling shouldn't be an issue.
