Just saw the interviews. Only takeaway was Watson side could have made a better choice of the attorney they had talk at the end.

Well that's not good.

Not sure how I feel about this. He has all the talent in the world but I would like to see him as the starter for at least half the season or one full season. He loves CLE so I don't think it's that risky if he does play well. idk
thats fine. He has the potential.

many times you pay a guy for what he has done- instead of what he is going to do...if they want to take a gamble on an elite athlete like Njoku who has shown flashes thats fine.

I started a new job last Monday and its been crazy. I am behind on all the sports action right now. My fantasy baseball team- that has won the last 2 ships and 4 of the last 5 is like 8th out of 14 right now- its brutal. lol.

Yeah. Because, even if you didn't do everything those women are claiming.....he did do SOMETHING.

Where is their proof then? Seems one of the women would have some type of proof. Yet they don't. When money is involved, i don't believe any of those woman and either did 2 grand juries tbh

Tow of their top 5 cap hits this season are TEs. It's just unnatural, lol, So is playing an NFL player for potential in their 5th year.

thats true- i agree

devlils advocate for signing him---- when he was drafted he was a project. He was super super young- i think the youngest guy in the draft class- like 19 years old or something.

his athleticism and potentail is just off the charts- ---- he has the ability to be an elite guy. I dont know if you have watched him much but he has shown flashes where you think this guy is going to be a real game changer--- and then he just dissapears.

I guess the hope is that he meets that potential. They have put a lot of development into him---- and with Watson maybe he elevates him and allows him to reach his potentiaal.....we shall see.

I heard on the radio that they almost had a settlement for 45,000 per accuser. The hold up was that WATSON actually wanted it to be public and the attorney for the accusers wanted it to be subject to a non disclousre agreement- which is kind of the opposite way you would expect. Supposedly the lawyer for the accusers wanted it to be non-public because of the "relative" little amount each accuser was getting.

this is just reported -- albeit from neutral sources---- but who really knows.

Not necessarily....but at the very least maybe could have said he should have limited the amount of therapists he saw to only a few.
if you are interested at all- they have the interviews on 92.3 the fan

yesterday at 6:00 pm they interviewed Hardin- Watson's lawyer....and today they interviewed Busby- the accusers' lawyer.

unfortunatly about 40 minutes of drive time has been my sports the last week and a half. New job is intense. Plus I have to drive downtown every day.

Wow.

I...couldn't even describe the rage I'd have.

The sentence "we contained him in a room" was uttered.

When that room contained children.

I'm sick.

Hooper is a June 1st cut but at least with Njoku they have seen him on this team instead of paying a FA like Hooper. That was Berry’s worst FA signing, brutal

I get that. Obviously the explanation given is something they shouldn’t have said.

But what were they supposed to do?

Charging in guns blazing wasn’t an option. Headlines would be even worse if police fire hit a kid.

100% of the blame needs to be placed where it belongs. On the shooter.

Responders were truly in a no win situation.

Not to mention, only 3 of the 22 women accusing Watson had any kind of sex with him. The 3 who did have some kind of sex with him testified that it was consensual.

Exactly. What happened yesterday was horrific. There's something that should be done (I've outlined what I think is a sensible strategy). But watching Kerr last night seemed like pandering and outrage without a viable solution. That part's easy to do.
Why are we coming at angry and frustrated basketball coaches who are fed up with these stories for solutions? I think that expectation is fucked up. You should also know that your fixes are incredibly expensive and that people hate taxes especially school taxes when they have grown children or no children at all and don’t make use of the public school systems. Many private schools around the country are just getting by with tight budgets as well. Many of your fixes require investments in infrastructure and in hiring personnel. Is America willing to pay for that in all of what amounts to something like 10,000 school districts all over America.

I see and share Kerr’s frustration. Columbine occurred in 1999 4 months before I started my teaching career and in all that time the people whose job it is to try and address this problem have done nothing because they’ve turned this into another political football for us to scream past each other.

I’m feeling like Dallas Goedert is a really solid contract if this is what Njoku is getting.

He wasn't holding them hostage. He was killing them one by one. So yea...guns blazing probably would have saved half of their lives. Maybe cost a cop or two. They signed up for that. The kids didnt.

However, you would also think the courts would agree to move forward with at least one criminal case. If they're all after restitution instead......?
Why? Sexual assault is one of the least prosecuted crimes in America for a reason. Guys who do this aren’t dumb enough to do this right out in the open in front of witnesses. It all comes down to his word vs her word. There is likely zero physical evidence. The only thing that would change the calculus here is if a masseuse video taped all of her sessions and it was caught on tape. Not impossible today but I don’t think customers would be ok with that policy. It always bothers me when people point to the absence of a conviction to declare someone accused of sexual assault innocent. It’s the most underprosecuted crime in America for a reason.
