When you have 20-plus women accusing you.....odds are he isn't going to just cop to it.

You'll deny, deny, deny.
Yeah no doubt but it could also be a case where Watson did this to a couple women and Busby decided, why not lets just get a bunch of women to testify, even if he didn't do anything to them, to make it look worse. Benefit for them, they could get a payout and no repercussion if they lie. Not saying that's what this is but I have found out the hard way. Never come to a conclusion until it's resolved.

Twenty plus, though? I mean even you have to believe something is wrong with that picture...

There's no way in hell 20+ women all made those allegations up. Nobody knows exactly what Watson's truly guilty of. But no doubt he's a scumbag and used very poor judgement multiple times. I will always be a Browns fan. But I simply can't support him.

He deserves whatever suspension he's given. I just hope the length of the suspension will be announced sooner rather than later.

Kerr has been talking outside of his mouth on both directions. Just a year or two ago he was advocating for removal of police from schools, particularly in Oakland. Now he's arguing a different direction entirely and demanding something be done without a viable solution. Personally, they should do the following with schools:

- Single point of entries in school
- Armed security
- Metal detectors
- Strict locked door policies on alternative exits (need multiple exits from school for fire codes)

Yep. Easy to sit back criticize and demand "demand something be done" when you don't have to actually do anything about it.

Your idea sounds good as far as protecting the kids. But it also can end up with schools that look more like prisons. But, the kids have to be protected.

Other than the armed security, I'm not sure what can be done to prevent what happened yesterday that at least some schools aren't already doing.

At my 2 grandsons school, all gates are locked during school hours and there is a single point of entry during school hours through the front office. There is no armed security or metal destectors though. I'm not sure what school secretaries are going to do with a random crazy person with a gun.

Schools need "school resource officers" at all schools and preferably, more than 1. Chances are, they will never have to deal with a situation like what happened yesterday...but, imo, this one of those "better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it" situations.

However, you would also think the courts would agree to move forward with at least one criminal case. If they're all after restitution instead......?

How many of these shootings end with an armed security officer stopping the shooter? In the Buffalo shooting the guard was heroic, but the shooter was wearing body armor. In a lot of other cases, that guard flees or hides. All about the quality of the hire, I guess. The Buffalo guard was a retired policeman.

That's why I would prefer "school resource officers" over armed security. They are actual police officers. From what I learned when I ran an Youth Outreach Program years ago working with kids, schools and local police, they received special training because of the unique circumstances a school presents.

The ones I knew actually thought of all of the students as "their kids" and would have done whatever they had toin order to protect them and they had body armor as well.

I know resources are spread thin but every school should have a cop

I'm really just not going down the road of who is or isn't lying. I think Deshaun could have handled it better all the way down but I also think the NFL has had waaaaaaay more than enough time to decide something.

Before this past year started, we didn't even have enough bus drivers locally.

No doubt. My wife does payroll for a bus company.

I just know you don't see city schools shot up as often. Because they generally have a cop. And less crazy white boys I guess.

While I understand these league's desire to do the right thing (or save face), overstepping their bounds (like Zeke's punishment by the NFL, or MLB re: Trevor Bauer) to affect these players' already limited careers seems inappropriate too. Only the courts should be deciding these punishments, and if there are no charges....?

Probably yes to both reasons, lol. The kids with guns in those districts don't bother going to school.

Yup, fully agreed that optics around schools starting to look short of maximum security prisons. But, and you eluded to it, the alternative is far worst. The other options that are floated around are full gun confiscation, which I'm completely against. There are already gun laws in place to help subside issues like yesterday, but like the Stoneman Douglas shooting a few years ago, the shooter circumvented said rules (in that particular scenario, the shooter was 17 and you're not even allowed the purchase a firearm). Something I've seen floating around as it related to yesterday is that the *assumed* shooter posted on social media his rifle and other disturbing posts that could've led to the incident. If that's the case, I feel the FBI has to be somewhat culpable relating to yesterday's incident given that is, well, the basis of their existence.

Ending political rant.

It's not like no woman has ever made a false allegation or embellished things trying to get a pay day.

Yep. Gun confiscation is a non-starter for me. For the most part, all you're doing is taking guns away from law abiding citizens or making criminals out of them. Criminals aren't going to be handing over their guns.

Creating more laws isn't the answer either. It's not like we're going to make a new law ands all of the crtiminals are going to say "Oh shit, they're serious this time...I better turn in my gun". lol

Yeah, him saying he doesn't regret anything doesn't pass the smell test.

Bauer might be a POS with some sick fantasies but he deserved time served.

Not like he'll play again anyway.

What I find odd is so far two grand juries have declined to do anything to Watson. That right there kinda says something could be a little fishy with what some of these women are claiming.

I truly believe Watson was outta line and is a total scumbag. You don't have that many different women accuse someone of things without doing some questionable things. I'm sure he crossed the line several times with multiple women.

That was actually the first thought I had and I posted something to that effect right after it was announced. Just seems odd that you have that many accusers and can't find enough evidence to hold over for a trial. It's not like there's a high burden of proof for a grand jury.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't think the defense even gets to participate.
