Anyone see entire Baker Mayfield podcast? I only heard the couple things his critics are complaining about. Someone I know who watched said he was 98% complementary of the browns and most of the show was guys just shooting the shit...not many comments about the Browns. didn't realize it was 90 minutes.

anyone catch it?

Nope. Although it's good to hear he was complementary of the team. Still doesn't change my opinion of him though.

So far I've watched all six Cleveland Baseball Team games. Man alotta new name to get familiar with. Not many of their games are televised out here. But for the first week of the season MLB extra innings has been free so I took advantage of it.

And that Steven Kwan kid. Damn, what a start to his career.

I like it. OSU does this but only for the new guys (earning the stripe, I believe, on back of helmet). Interesting to do it for everyone though I guess this year everyone is new for him.

Yeah, my guess is that starting next year, returning players would keep theirs...but, I could also see the point of everyone starting out without them every year...let's them know that last year is over and you don't get to rest on your laurels.

Basically, everyone gets a plain Cardinal colored helmet, then through effort and discipline both on and off the field, they earn their gold Trojans logo.

Raesjon Davis who is from Mater Dei got his yesterday. Matt Leinart had stopped by the practice, so they let him give Davis his logo since he also played at Mater Dei.

Plain helmets? Sounds like USC wants to emulate Notre Dame. :heh:

He’d be nuts not to try and cash in on everybody getting paid. Tomorrow is never promised for a guy like Murray who is so dependent on his legs to be dynamic. Get that money young man.

Is he under contract?
Does the NFL respect the contract with guaranteed money? I’m very pro player when it comes to NFL contracts. They regularly get out of their commitments when it’s in the best interest of the front office.

Same. Cardinals are nothing without him.

Pay him or trade him

He is going to get a big contract but the Cardinals have to make use of his last cheap year and do some things. Just how the league works while QBs are on rookie contracts.

No. It isn’t. These players have zero leverage and quite honestly, the comments that you and tf12 are presenting is part of the leverage they possess. You do their work. You help them demonize the player. When these players get hurt or lose a step these guys get cut. They regularly sign guys to 5-6 year deals and everybody knows a player won’t make it past year 3 or 4. This wasn’t a true contract of value. It is a contract that is valued on where it is slotted. A player should be allowed to exercise the same leverage. If we were talking NBA or MLB I would be on your side. The NFL is a different animal.

The line in the contract that has his signature on it is the same as an NBA or MLB contract.

Lost Chandler Jones which is a big loss. They lost Kirk who is replaceable but they also haven’t replaced him either. If they go out and get him Deebo or DK in a trade and it’s their turn to get paid this year and they ask him to wait until next year to get his that’s a different story. But it doesn’t seem like the Cardinals are doing that.

And you’re welcome to embrace an oversimplified view of a more nuanced and complex issue.
