Interesting theory re: Shanahan on Dan Patrick. They put it on Shanahan's ego. Said he was trying to make sure that Purdy won MVP so he could say he was right about him/turning Mr. Irrelevant into a Super Bowl MVP.

Something to this. Shanahan has failed when it comes to developing a real skill set at QB. He reminds me of Brian Kelly in that regard. Both men have had success taking the Little Engine That Could type of guy and getting him to manage a football game. It’s why neither guy has won big in their careers. The modern game calls for a dynamic QB to win the ultimate prize. His flow is innately flawed. It wins a ton of regular season games but they’ll always be bridesmaids with this approach.

I disagree. 3-12 on 3rd down when they were 49% on 3rd down all season. Deebo gets 41 total yards. Ayuik limited targets. Kittle 4 receiving yards. He has a stable of play makers and the only one he could bust loose was CMC. He shit the bed…again. This is who he is.

They didn't play against the Chiefs' #2 defense all season.

He didn’t play against the Chiefs # 2 defense in the rest of his multiple failures either.

I'm only discussing this game, as it is the only one important now. You're the one that introduced regular season stats from this season.

Yep. It all exists in a larger context. I can see why you would want to compartmentalize things. Unfortunately for you, I’m not stupid. No one is saying this stuff about Shanahan without the established history.

The established history does not make this loss a choke IMO. I was predicting the 2nd half failures just like everyone else, but he and his team rebounded from losing the lead and had two special teams gaffes change the outcome.

I suppose to avoid giving credit to a former Eagles coach, it's easier to blast the losing coach.

Why would you take the ball with these new rules? I would treat it like colllege and kick
Only reason I can think of is IF both teams do same thing on first drives you get first crack in sudden death. Guess that's somewhat legit.

The 49ers 3rd quarter is what did them in. You get a pick and did nothing with it then you had the muffed punt and you barely gave your best player any touches. Man I would hate to be a 49ers fan right now
ST players might be among the dumbest people on the planet. Get away from the ball......oh, and often cannot tell a guy's front from his back.

I have nothing but respect for Andy Reid. Outside of the occasional fat joke, I don’t talk shit about Andy Reid.

Thanks man. Sorry if I came off a little dickish last night, but I'm enjoying the fuck outta finally having a dynasty in KC after a half century of being the Rodney Dangerfields of the league. Waited a VERY long time for this...
uh....when is our turn?

But congrats.

I think there’s greater advantage in taking the ball and knowing what you need. It also puts you in 4 down mode if you need it. Getting the ball first makes for some tough 4th down decisions.

He has no idea where the ball is. It’s the job of the returner to be screaming some code word that means find the ball and get away. I have been on staffs that have used Poison and Tony Romo was calling it Peter during the telecast.

I'll be interested to see who's the QB for '24.
assume it'll be the guy from KSU (whose name is escaping me even though I said it to someone yesterday....I'm old).

Guessing between Noland and Saye whoever does NOT win the #2 job will leave.

Meh, liked the Ah-nold commercial better personally...
I liked seeing the suits characters (favorite was the Judge Judy one) as I think it was because the show is going to have a spin off I think.

Of course that is the advantage of first 2 drives (going second) and why all CFB teams go second (or nearly all). I'd say might depend on odds of both doing the same thing on each of their 1st possession but could we even know since it's never happened quite like this?
