I realize you have an agenda regarding Baker, but be better than this. AD was 26 when they traded for him. AR is 37.Not saying the Browns should do it,
But that is exactly what most Laker fans were saying about the prospect of trading Ball, Ingram, etc for a proven star.
If Rodgers can get the Browns a Super Bowl it is worth it.
Because chances are Baker won’t.
Most “good young QBs” don’t ever get 1.
then there is the matter of AD being 26 and AR 37.Not even remotely the same.
There are multiple examples of teams winning or making super bowls with average to just above average qbs.
There is one example of a no superstars team winning it all. The 04 Pistons. And maybe..... maybe Ingram is on par or could be with any of their top 4 guys.
Plus you don't get just Lebron there... but another star because he's there.
Of course, IF he wins a SB dealing for him would be worth it but in 90%+ of his seasons he has not won a SB and how many more chances do you think he has? 2-3?Again, not saying the Browns should do it.
But if Rodgers wins a Super Bowl then any price is worth it.
And if Rodgers goes to say, Denver or another AFC team, the Browns window to win gets a lot more narrow.
Once you pay guys like Mayfield and Chubb, it is much harder to put quality pieces around them. While there are plenty of examples of average QBs winning, there are many more of average QBs not winning.
I'm not even certain they extend Chubb. If he wants the last dollar my guess is they wont. But they will franchise him for at least a season. They will have to lose one of Landry or OBJ and have Njoku coming off for Chubbs raise
Yeah, AR would be a high priced rental essentially, but as rentals go he'd be top of the line...Of course, IF he wins a SB dealing for him would be worth it but in 90%+ of his seasons he has not won a SB and how many more chances do you think he has? 2-3?
If the question is would I rather have AR or Baker next season only? AR please.
I'm not even certain they extend Chubb. If he wants the last dollar my guess is they wont. But they will franchise him for at least a season.
PFF had Njoku as their best TE overall last season. This is not the cannot catch/cannot block guy many think he is. Had 1 drop last season and easily our best blocking TE (an exceptional blocker, if I remember correctly, per PFF).OBJ will be gone and they will restructure Jarvis is my guess. Njoku will be gone too--- at certain times he has been good- but at certain times he has been horrible. At least by then they will be able to have found a decent replacement.
I expect Hooper to either restructure or be gone after this year as well.
And if we were in Denver's situation or another team with a completely unsettled QB situation I'd go all out for him.Yeah, AR would be a high priced rental essentially, but as rentals go he'd be top of the line...
Agreed...And if we were in Denver's situation or another team with a completely unsettled QB situation I'd go all out for him.
Save the best game for......first?Browns/Chiefs right off the bat, Huh...?
It's not....but it does support your anti-Baker agenda at least.This.
Great example, Lance.
Not to say not an advantage but did he say it was because it's week 1 or just in general?I agree with what Cowherd said this morning. That's a big advantage for the Chiefs.
Could get interesting if they will add some hitting if still in it at deadline....but not sure they would.I will tell ya what- this Indians team is exciting.
So many people panned the Corey Kluber trade to the Rangers a couple years ago where the Indians only got 1 relief pitcher- the name of Emanuel Clase.
Now the Indians have Clase---- and James Karinchak- two of the best, young, talented, cost controlled, relievers in the entire game set to pitch the 8th and 9th on any given night--- turning it into pretty much a 7 inning game.
Thus far Karinchak has been NASTY: 18.1 innnings pitched- 35 k's, era under 0.50 whip under 0.50 era ---- thats almost 2 k's per inning pitched- and 1 earned run thus far.
Clase has been awesome too 17 innings pitched era a little over 1. perfect on save chances thus far.
pretty great to have 2 young relievers with dominant stuff. Its been a huge advantage thus far for a team that struggles on offense a lot of nights.
Lol hey, you already know this game'll be overhyped (AND over analyzed when it's done ), but it is what it is...Save the best game for......first?
OK, but same could be true of Bmore/LJ, Buffalo/Allen and what are the odds they even win a title WITH AR in likely the 2-3 seasons he'd still play?Obviously not arguing any of that. Very easy to list reasons why it is a bad idea.
But you need to understand the most likely case is that 10 years from now, Baker will be making like 50-60 million per year and the Browns will have 0 Super Bowl wins.
with a 5.5 point spread it seems like they already think it's a near coin toss with KC getting the usual 4 or so for being at home. That was the point he made. He said that if that game is later in the season, it's essentially a coin toss.
I don't mind it at all. Some fans here complaining since we never win the opener and thought this year we could get a break. Way I see it is Browns have nothing to lose as not expected to win it. If we do, great. If not, move on...with a lesser team they moved on from a blowout in week 1 last year.Lol hey, you already know this game'll be overhyped (AND over analyzed when it's done ), but it is what it is...
sure they could, but you know how most still are....they comment based on poster, not post.lol...i mean.....cmon now. Dont get so upset lil guy.
Tebow had an 80 yard game winning touchdown in a home playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. While I am in no way defending Tebow from the obviousness that he sucked as a QB- to say that he throw no touchdowns in the playoffs- when he threw an 80 yard TD to win the game against an awesome defense- is just assinine. It makes you look like you have no clue what you are talking about.
I may have opinions and predictions- but as for FACTS- spewing obviously totally incorrect factual information is kind of embarrassing for you. It shows that in addition to not having the intelligence to be able to formulate your own opinions or predictions- you cant even get right actual facts/historical events.
I mean- so much of your post was just made up- 6 tds and 14 interceptions? Were you hitting the sauce when you posted that? its 17 tds and 9 interceptions. 14 fumbles? according to NFL.com stats its 7 total in his career. Did you just fabricate the whole post? lol. Is the neighbor even real? lol. Is this an "imaginary friend" neighbor? That would actually explain a lot.
I gotta think any of the real football fans around here would remember that play and could have called you out for your blatantly wrong post just as easily as I did.
I'm too jaded to pick any of my teams to go to title game in any sport.....for sure until I see them get there at least once. But sure seems like it's one of those 3 or maybe Bmore. As far as the Brownies to the Superbowl, maybe. But honestly I'm picking both Buffalo and KC ahead of them...
