Love what the bears are doing this offseason.

Got Tonyan and Foreman now
Yep. They had a ton of cap space and have a lot of picks now.....they should be right there in the running for the North title next season.

The NFC is weak, go for it. It comes down to Fields but they did a lot to help him. If they were in the AFC it would be a different story for them but this can be a competitive team in the NFC if Fields is better than average.
He just has to keep progressing.....he played well last season, despite not having much.

Now on offense he has Moore, Mooney, Claypool, Kmet, and Tonyan to throw to.....they improve the defense and they will be a team to watch. Already are IMO.

Got my corned beef, cabbage, etc. Corned beef going into the slow cooker in about 30 minutes.

Oh hell yeah!

Gonna get mine started here shortly as well.

You got any Irish soda bread?

Weren't they the first and still maybe the only, team to lose in the 1st round as a #1 seed?

We don’t need to talk about that.

I hate hearing people say the title team was a fluke.

It wasn’t.

That team was amazing.

Bennett had about a 5 year run with teams always good enough to make a deep run.

Sometimes they did, most often they lost in the second or 3rd round (usually to Michigan St.)

Yes, they lost to UMBC. And their play style always makes upsets a possibility.

But aside from that season, the first round losses were teams who greatly overachieved their talent level.

This year included.

What most people don’t realize about that title team was that Jay Huff was on it and not really in the rotation.

He is a fringe NBA player.

All UVA’s best lineups had Huff in them.

But Bennett frustrating benched Huff and played Kihei 25-30 minutes alongside Jerome with Hunter at 4 and Diakite at 5.

Their best lineup had 5 NBA guys, and all of them were experienced players. Not 1 and dones.

It was a great team.

As I rant about Bennett’s rotations…

And I really do think he is an amazing coach.

Kaden Shedrick was hands down the best player on the court for UVA yesterday.

And he was completely out of the rotation a weeks and a half ago.

It took an injury to Ben Vanderplast (who honestly isn’t very good) to get Shedrick back in the rotation.

Bennett plays guys he trusts to not make mistakes over more talented better players who occasionally make defensive errors. Even when the solid player isn’t very good.

Can often end up greatly lowering the ceiling for his teams.

Not a fan of St. Patty's Day grub?
My mom used to make corned beef and cabbage but I am not the main cook in the household.

Probably going to have some salad with broccoli, cheese, and bacon bits with some type of dressing for either lunch or dinner. Need to consult with the wife (currently on a conference call) about dinner so I can then think about lunch.....which is sooner than later since I am starting to get a little hungry now that I am thinking about food.

Good deal.

Not sure if it was this thread on another but saw you & your wife will be going to Vegas in July. Hope you love it. Alotta stuff to do out there that doesn't involve gambling. Make sure to check out local casinos for free live music.

Now it's been 13+ years since I gotta outta Henderson so some of this might have changed over the years.

If Gordon Biersch is still downtown they have great appetizers during happy hour. Never go any other time as it's expensive. This is gonna sound a little weird. But you gotta go there when it's 115 and make sure to site outside. They have a great fan & misting system. It's like sitting outside with AC.

Pizza- try Metro. If you like German food go the the Hofbrauhaus, excellent grub and authentic beer. Omlete House on Boulder Highway has the best country fried steak & eggs I've had.

There's some other stuff, but can't think of it right now. Oh yeah here's one. Go up to Mount Charleston. Great place to beat the summertime heat. Camping. Nice scenery. And I can't even put into words what the bristle cone pines smell like up there. Incredible. Really cool place.
