Everything I do is non emotional. Unlike Stephen A, who thinks it’s wrong as well by the way. I think when a person dies discretion should be extreme. This called for cancelling games honestly until the smoke cleared, not saying a murderer was out for an injury at first. As you said, at a minimum a couple games for poking fun at a horrible situation should have been a no brainer.

But this very argument is emotion based.

We already have the 2 people who actually committed the crime arrested and charged. So what smoke needs to be cleared?

And now you're calling for the entire team to be punished.

Imo, Miller and the other player should sit a couple of games and spend a lot of time with the football teams strength and conditioning coach (those fuckers are pure evil). But that's about it unless something more comes out.

Technically, Alabama doesn't have to have a reason to remove any player from the team.

What happened at Baylor has nothing to do with this.

You haven't given any legitimate reason for Miller to be suspended. All you're saying is that if Miller wasn't a top player he would be gone, but that's nothing but speculation and isn't a reason to suspend Miller.

Perhaps the only reason folks are saying he should be suspended is because of how good he is.
We can agree to disagree. I’m taking on the role of head coach with my opinion. I think that’s one teammate helping another teammate in making a poor decision when he has a chance to be proactive and remove him from the situation. My player goes the opposite way and helps a bad decision get made. That’s just me. Your stance on legal stuff would have me go to the AD and say it’s better that we don’t take away his scholarship. He is likely to leave when he is dismissed from the team anyway and he goes to the draft but I protect my institution from suit by lobbying that they don’t remove his scholarship or expel him from school. There’s enough here for me (in the mindset of preaching that it’s a privilege to play here and that needs to be respected at all times) to send everyone involved away. I might be the type of coach to leave meat on the bone running my program this way but I’d be able to put my head on the pillow. As a college coach, job 1 is to help develop good citizens and accountability in my eyes. I hope we don’t lose that in sports. We may already have.

Most recent article indicates he never touched the gun involved in the murder.
If he doesn’t bring the gun to Miles that’s an entirely different story and we have been fed misinformation.

His lawyer came out and said he never touched the gun involved.

In this Nation we have a right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. And like Trojan already said the DA and everybody involved hasn't filed charges against him. If charges had been filed......no problem with what you are saying.

If it’s not true that he brought the gun then my opinion is based on misinformation.

Obviously the time to cancel games has long passed. I wouldnt look at it as punishing the whole team either, I would look at it as making sure the focus is where it needs to be for a bit.

That’s stuff that’s evidentiary and provable. Except in this case, there won’t be any of that because Miller won’t be charged. Maybe it comes out in testimony at trial. That will be long after Miller has moved on from Alabama and is in the NBA.
