Evans has played 14 (lost one to suspension). Godwin played 13, Gage 11. Counting on anything from Julio was silly. Fournette missed one game.

They did lose two interior linemen, but the replacements were former 2nd and 3rd round players (but college RTs), not exactly off the street.

Eagles lose Lane Johnson for rest of regular season with torn abdominal muscle. Probably the worst diagnosis possible. Even if he’s back for playoffs he’s going to be gutting it out at less than 100%. Micah Parsons did nothing Saturday until Lane left the game.

Well....Brady may want to leave Tampa and go to a place he knows somebody...he played for McDaniels in NE.

Adams, Renfrow, Waller, and Jacobs are some nice weapons in an offense he could get up to speed quickly.

Not sure I would like this scenario but I guess it's a possibility.

How is N.D. doing in recruiting so far?

They finished with 247’s composite ranking at 9. At one time, they were the number one class so they didn’t close like the big boys close. They have talent though at every position. I like the defensive class more than the offensive class. The 8-4 season with an 0-2 start had an impact on the class. Freeman has to show that he can coach at a championship level. He has the chance next year with home games vs OSU and USC and a road game at Clemson. The 2024 class is off to a solid start. They have Lloyd Carr’s grandson from a Michigan HS as their QB commit in that group. Usually a top QB early is a nice boost to putting together a top class.

ND has to step up their NIL game. They lost out on some battles late because they got out spent. That’s the new game in recruiting and ND alums are going to have to step up.

Wish they were dirtier! Just being honest, the ND alums with means are more turned on by the NBC Halftime human interest story on an ND professor studying Ebola in LGBTQ+ population in Africa than they are the actual football product on the field. Not sure how they’re gonna do in this new world of NIL. The hope would be that the “subway alum”, people like me who never went to ND but grew up in an ND centric family, would step up to help make ND a factor in this new market. The old “it’s not a 4 year decision; it’s a 40 year decision because of the weight of an ND degree” doesn’t play anymore with the best of the best of the best.
