DJ it astounds me how wrong you are on a daily basis.Watson would be smart to take the suspension....Brady caved on his because it was taking so damn long.

ehhhhh.........For having zero farm, like one of the worst farms in baseball, the Phil’s and Dombrowski did great today! They get a bull pen arm in Dave Robertson. They fill a hole in CF with Marsh who can play every day there. He’s not a great bat but he provides great outfield defense. With Schwarber in LF and Castellanos in RF you need a CF that is a plus defender. I read that he’s so good defensively that the Angels had kicked around the idea of moving Trout to a corner outfield spot so he could play CF. And most importantly they got another starting pitcher in Syndegaard. He’s not what he was. But he slots nicely as a 3rd or 4th starter. This keeps them out of throwing bull pen games like they’ve been doing since Eflin went down. Come playoffs, you don’t need 5 starters. This sends Ranger Suarez back to the pen when things get important and the Phil’s are also essentially adding a LH arm to that pen.
Not sexy like Soto but a hell of job by Dombrowski considering they have one of the worst farms in baseball currently. Very pleased.
#20,683What suspension? It depends on how long it is. 12 or longer the NFLPA/Watson should not take it. 8-10, I agree.
They proposed 12 and they declined. Anything more than 10 is ridiculous
the funny thing is that if they go to court Watson may play the entire year and just go into next year like Brady did.....I guess we will see. What suspension? It depends on how long it is. 12 or longer the NFLPA/Watson should not take it. 8-10, I agree.

while I did not give much hope to a lawsuit in federal court- I have had other people tell me (lawyers) I talked to- not so fast on that.....since the Brady case a lot has happened with owner discipline....and that if they are not following their own rules- then a lawsuit could be successful as it calls for owners to be held to a higher standard in the actual black and white of the rules. also- that Watson's team would intend to throw so much shit around and show the disparate discipline and put what these owners have done in the limelight........This is great

interesting strategy--- personally I dont know if it goes anywhere- but that does have to scare the SHIT out of the NFL. I guarantee you- Jerry Jones, Dan Synder and the guy in New England did not want the decision of the impartial federal judge appealed.
They have zero farm to speak of and acquired a number of solid pieces. That’s all I was saying. Disagree on 6th or 7th. The Central is not good at all. Both the Cardinals and Brewers are overrated.ehhhhh.........
Marsh is okay and maybe has some post-hype potential- but Keith Law thought they did bad in the trade and that the guy they traded was worth more.
Said that Syndegaard is basically insurance if Eflin does not come back. It surprises me how bad Syndegaard's strikeout and peripheal numbers are- though- for a 5th or 6th starter he is above average.
kinda ironic that the Phillies had Robertson for 2 years and he pitched like 12 innings and now he is back there---- he has lost a lot of velocity from what he once was but his breaking stuff is pretty good.
these guys were all pretty cheap for a reason. I think Dominguez is a better RP- but now he will prob. be setup. Knebel is a little bit of a headcase but has better stuff.
the best thing Phillies have going for them is that Bohm has started hitting a little bit- even if his power has disappeared, and Castellanos seems to be coming out of it. Castellanos actually producing - compared to what he was doing would be bigger than just about any deadline bat beside Soto.
Braves and Mets are def. better. NL Central will prob. only get 1 team though St. Louis is not bad...maybe a little better than the Phillies if you ask me. Padres got a lot better AND Tatis is coming back soon.
I would put the Phillies as either the 6th or 7th best team in the NL....should fight for the last wild card spot with either the Cards or Brewers (whoever does not win the division) it looks like.
Well, I'm curious to what the CBA dictates. Goodell has to stay in the lane of the CBA. Goodell will likely go with the maximum possible fine allowable, but it's the length of his suspension that will be the real punishment, which is why the NFL is appealing the decision. They will probably negotiate on less than a full season and a HEFTY FINE.
Yeah, the more I'm hearing, the bleaker it's looking for Watson. Looking like 6 games definitely ain't gonna do it...Well, I'm curious to what the CBA dictates. Jake Paul showed his ass, moreso than usual. Dude was about to face a legitimate boxer, then he backed out because there was a 10-pound weight advantage on the other side. But Paul has been calling out McGregor who has throughout his career fought at 145-155lbs (likely is a welterweight given the bulk he's added on). Paul is north of 200 pounds, yet keeps challenging McGregor who'd have a significant size disadvantage (at least by weight). This is great
Agreed. But I think the path Wiggy laid out earlier in this thread is quite possible where Watson plays the whole season if this goes to court, similar to Brady. @trojanfan12 mentioned it earlier in this thread, but Goodell isn't exactly forward thinking on this. This is going to bring more light to the NFL related to sexual harassment/assault and Goodell's history of lax punitive action on his part.Yeah, the more I'm hearing, the bleaker it's looking for Watson. Agreed. This is either a new line in the sand or all of this is nonsense if they aren’t going to make cracking down on this a permanent thing.Agreed. I'm going to laugh my ass off (not really) when the next CBA draft comes around and Goodell doesn't address it, in terms of heavier fines and suspensions related to this.Agreed. The Expansion Browns fans would shit.I'm going to laugh my ass off (not really) when the next CBA draft comes around and Goodell doesn't address it, in terms of heavier fines and suspensions related to this.
