Could see that happening if Goodell pushes for more games. Either way it's gonna be something of a shit show for the Browns simply due to the fact that he can't please everyone...
Well the Browns are certainly familiar with shit shows.

Again- my trivia question:

btw--- trivia question----- Who is the only player since 1949 to score more than 150 runs in a season? I bet if you dont cheat you wont guess in 20 guesses.

if anyone can guess in less than 10 guesses and not cheat I will be SHOCKED.......only 1 guy with a 150 runs or more since 1949-- who?

please dont cheat. Though- if I gave you 20 guesses I bet you dont get it.
Can you give a hint and tell me if I saw him play (I'm 52)?

Fair projection. At the same time, don’t forget that the NFLPA is arguably the weakest of all the player unions in pro sports. They rarely have leverage and even in situations where they do, they seemingly take it on the chin every time. I’m still thinking we are looking at a minimum of 8 games with the NFL having an eye on avoiding week 13 @Houston.

Maybe. But it has gotten stronger of late. If nothing else, there was a time where Goodell would have just ruled on this with no independent judge or other outside input.

So far, it doesn't look like there will be a fine, or mandatory counseling. If Goodell wants to add punishment, that may be a good way of doing so.

The NFL will appeal. They won’t just sit back and accept 6 games. The ground swell of public perception will be on their side too.
Problem is they shift public opinion against them by appealing. Kind of makes the entire process a sham if they appeal.

I'd say Watson has as much right to appeal but would be foolish since Goodell decides the outcome on an appeal.

Where are all the Browns guys? All things considered this was a great outcome for them. I would be in here flexing.
6 games is a long time so no flexing from me...even though like Shane I guessed 6-8. Admittedly was no more than a guess.

I agree. But what does that process look like? Does the NFL have to appeal or can they say “thanks for the guidance but this is what we’re gonna do.”
Ultimately they can do as you mentioned at the end of your comment. Will they? The term, bad look, gets thrown around too much IMO, but that would be a bad look.

By appealing, it would also seem to open the door for Goodell to then say...''Ya know what? You're right. The judge did get it wrong. The suspension is now 10+ games''.

Congrats on being right, so far, on a total sleezeball. It’s not over.
A former federal judge heard all the testimony and saw a ton of information and disagreed with you. Maybe she knows more than you?

That's my line of thinking too. Counseling or a fine. I don't see Goodell appealing a judge that he appointed. Literally makes no sense but we will see.

No doubt he could and that might throw public opinion against him for making the entire process a sham.

@trojanfan12

A question about comment ratings. What the hell is a red flag/cake warning?

Lmao I have an agenda? That’s funny shit right there.

I don’t disagree. But at the end of the day, what supersedes all of that is public opinion believing that some 40+ accusations mean he is guilty of sexual misconduct. People aren’t going to be upset if his suspension is extended.
I mean, those with an agenda will be upset if it's extended...just like those with an agenda think it's too short.
