The Dodgers also have Buehler (arb 3 next year) and May (arb 1 next year). Pepiot is in AAA and could be worked into the rotation next season. I don't know that Heaney (back from the IL Wed) and Anderson are being counted on long term, but their success could change that I suppose.

I saw a suggested Dodgers trade of Gavin Lux and a handful of prospects. Not sure I like giving up Lux...but damn Soto is talented.

I'm not sure how much you gain giving up that many pieces for one guy. Dodgers are looking at pitching also, although I'm not sure why unless it's a closer. They get Heaney back this week and May just had a rehab start in AAA. Buehler is set to start throwing again today (expected back in September).

I don't like losing Lux at 2B either, but every upgrade has it's cost. Busch has ramped up in AAA this month. Vargas is also currently in AAA, but likely moves to 1B in the pros.

I am too. His BJJ negates Islam's advantage in Samba. One sloppy transition, Oliveira can sweep Islam and he's in a world of trouble.
Do you think Amanda will win next week?

I don't like Pena.

What about Brandon Moreno?

I think we will see a few Stockton slaps in Diaz vs Chimaev.

But, Khamzat is going to smash him.

I absolutely don't like Pena. She's tough as nails, but she's a sloppy fighter. It's crazy that she's the Bantamweight champ right now. But, I think Nunes is fried and on the downturn in her career. Two years ago, she smacks Pena, now? I think it'll be a repeat.

I think Kai got better, would be interesting to see how Moreno does.

And yeah, I think Diaz will try to do his usual thing, but Khamzat's a beast.

Interesting with Nunes. She had a bit of a layoff...so, was it that?, did she not take Pena serious? Has she become civilized? Or is it the inevitable decline? Guess will get some answers.

Cat Zingano absolutely BRUTALIZED Nunes when she ran out of gas in their fight.

Amanda is like post-prison Mike Tyson.

If they can't get you out of there quickly, they wilt.

The only time Amanda didn't gas out was against Shevchenko.

With that being said, that Zingano fight was the catalyst for turning Amanda into a murder bot.

So, I think this loss will incite her to annihilate Pena.

This shit is not getting out of the 1st round.

That's what I'm trhinking/hoping since Nunes is tied with Derrick Lewis as my favorite MMA fighter.

Interestingly, Derrick Lewis has a similar issue as Nunes when taken into the deep waters. lol

I love the black beast....lol

I forget who he was fighting, but dude was getting his ass kicked all over the octagon for most of the fight and couldn't land many punches...then with seconds left, he lands that one punch and fight was over. Love that he can do that.

Might have been the one where he took his out shorts off after the fight and said it was because "My balls was hot". :pound:

Remember the Travis Browne fight?

Whopped her husband's ass and then asked....

" Where Ronda Rousey's fine ass at"?

I fell out....lol

Gonsolin's first complete season as a starter (and an all-star) is an outlier, even though none of his stats are really outliers compared to previous (if abbreviated) seasons?
Yes. It is an outlier.

He has a 2.02 ERA. Nothing before has suggested that was something he could do with any type of regularity.

2- I just looked at the ERA leaders - and I did not even see him on the list. I dont think he even has enough innings itched to be on it.

both ESPN and MLB do not even have him on their lists as it does not appear he even qualifies at this point.

he is 28 and has never pitched 60 innings in the big leagues until this year.

I think he will be good going forward- but I absolutely do not foresee this level of success---- but I guess we will see.

Buehler and Urias are both arb 3 next year.

after that both are free agents.

Turner is a FA after this year.

Freeman and Betts make huge dollars.

Signing Buehler, Urias and Turner is going to be huuuuuge dollars.

If they let go of Turner- maybe they get in on Soto- but absent that- I highly highly doubt it.

Yeah, that's kind of how I see him. The only stat that seems truly inline with is opponent batting average. Maybe the Dodgers have ''unlocked'' him, so to speak (they've done it with others and its only his 4th year), but I expect he'll revert back to norm, which is still good. But not the level he's been so far this year.

plus, you have to see a guy throw 170-190 innings a few times to see if he can hold up and see that his stuff holds up.

this season he is at a little over 90 ip and that is by far the most he has thrown in his career.

its a lot different throwing 180 innings 4-5 years in a row than 200 innings total in a 4 year span.

I am just saying for Soto---- paying Freeman, Betts, Turner, Soto, Urias, and Buehler seems far fetched- but we shall see. Justin Turner and Munchy will both likely be gone after this year. and they will get cap relief from Bauer and Price soon- so that will help.

but that does leave you with some gaps. Smith is maybe the best hitting catcher in baseball and he will have to get paid at some point too- but not for a while.

not only that- but yes- the Dodgers have done an amazing job in their farm system....probably the best in the league over the last 5 years or so.....

but if they trade for Soto that will be a big depletion.

Take into account they already traded some of their high level prospects in the Turner/Sherzer deal and for Betts, and the supply is not inexhaustible.

I would guess that any Soto deal would start with Lux and May and some minor leaguers---- or maybe not May, but at least Lux and a shit ton of prospects.....

long term that leaves you with high level all stars at SS, 1B, and 2 in the outfield (Trea Turner, Freeman, Soto, Betts)....you have Smith at C......then gotta find a 3B and an outfielder- if they decide to keep Bellinger thats fine- but he wont exactly be cheap.

I dont know how long Kershaw has left, but Urias and Buehler will cost a lot. Gonsolin basically costs nothing for a long time. May will cost basically nothing for a while.
