Because they aren't different. If Lebron had joined those teams and adding him was the only roster change, then you might have a point. But that wasn't the case.

Why can't you admit that they both did the same thing?

Both the heat and the cavs played following seasons without lebron and neither won a championship or made the finals...there is one key ingredient that made them go to the finals...Durant isn't a key ingredient to making a finals, they made it without him

So thus it's not the same....

Those teams also lost more than just Lebron. Again, you're not talking about the same rosters. If Lebron had joined the Cavs team that he talked about having so much patience with, then it wouldn't be the same. But that's not what happened.

I don't have a problem with what either of them did. They were FA's and they went to what they each felt were better opportunities to accomplish what they want. I just don't get why Cavs fans have an issue with it other than the obvious that it likely ends their title streak at 1.

It's not like either of them stayed with the franchise that drafted them through thick and thin ala Kobe, Timmy or Dirk.

Why can't you admit there is different levels of stacked teams? lol

If you just broke down the statistics of the cavs and heat with and without lebron, vs durant with and without him, you would see there is major differences

Youre pretty obsessed with this topic. Nobody is going to agree with you either way.

i cannot honestly believe that you see no difference between joining a 22 year old Kyrie Irving who had never made the playoffs and a 26 year old Kevin Love that had never made the playoffs---- and a team that had been in the lotto 4 straight years before LBJ came back

and joining Green, Thompson and Curry- something that has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE in the history of the league- having an all nba player join 3 other All nba players, INCLUDINg the 2 time reigning MVP (not just all stars- ALL NBA guys) who just made it to two Finals and won one.

I honestly cannot wrap my mind around how you see no difference between the two....to me- its simply bat shit crazy....but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

i mean- its not even CLOSE....it boggles my mind you can think so. Its not comparing apples to oranges- its comparing apples to wrenches.

its so obvious that one guy was building something- while the other is riding guy's jocks.

Hes still joining star players. Which according to cavs fans "joining stars is illegal and you should be arrested for it"

IMO.... the closest example to Durant joining the Warriors... is the Lakers adding Wilt.

The Lakers already had Jerry West & Elgin Baylor and had just lost to Boston in the Finals in 6 games. (That was technically a trade, but it was lopsided value and Wilt demanded to be sent to LA or NY).

Even then... the Lakers pre-Wilt were nowhere near as good as the Warriors pre-Durant.

For the record.... Personally, I have zero problem with it. I've always been about free agents having the right to do whatever they want to do.

BTW... the Lakers still lost to those same Celtics in the Finals despite adding Wilt :D :hope:

It's pretty simple. Kyrie was an emerging star player and Love was an established star player. The team Lebron joined was not the team he wrote about having so much patience with. He didn't join the team that had gone to the lotto 4 years in a row. The Cavs had to completely overhaul the roster for him to come back.

and joining Green, Thompson and Curry- something that has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE in the history of the league- having an all nba player join 3 other All nba players (not just all stars- ALL NBA guys) who just made it to two Finals and won one.

What Lebron did when he went to Miami had also "NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE in the history of the league" and the only reason what he did when he returned to Cleveland had "NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE in the history of the league" was because he had done it 2010 when he went to Miami.

I honestly cannot wrap my mind around how you see no difference between the two....to me- its simply bat shit crazy....but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

You can't wrap your mind around it because you think it's somehow a criticism of Lebron and you Cavs fans and Lebroniacs can't allow any criticism of him.

What's hilarious is that I have never criticized Lebron for what he did (just how he did it). Meanwhile, you have been very critical of KD.

Of course people like to compare the 2 but they are different. KD went to a team he just couldn't beat, a team that had a 2x MVP and won a title without him. Of course, the team will be better that you move to once you get a superstar but the difference is Miami wasn't a contender and GS was the best team. It's funny that everyone talked about GS being the best team ever possibly and now they get a top 3 player. If Lebron did the same, his legacy would be shot from people's/critics POV. They don't hold KD, a top 3 player, to the same standard as Lebron and that is understandable bc he is mentally weak. Well he definitely hurt his reputation even more in the fact he told Westbrook he was coming back. Now he better win a title every year, including next year or he would be criticized even more than Lebron bc he went to a team that was ALREADY a championship team. To end, I think KD's situation is much more drastic than Lebron's and that is without a doubt so it isn't really a debate at all lol. I don't hate KD for being weak, he wants to win even though he went to the best team of the last two years. It should be fun to watch regardless.

I still dont see how 3 All NBa guys coming off of 2 straight Finals and a championship equals 2 all stars who had never made the playoffs.

perhaps one day you can explain that.

I just explained it to you why

Lebron made the respective teams stacked...Irving/love and wade/bosh are not stacked championship level teams until lebron joins them...In fact i am not sure they even make the playoffs

Durant didn't make gs stacked...they already were stacked without him...big difference

Exactly. Both KD and Lebron left for what they felt were better opportunities. Not a thing in the world wrong with that. It's not like either of them forced their way out via a trade.

i never said that- kyrie made him look like garbage for the finals- but other than that- hes def a top 5- likely top 2-3 guy in the league.

Right.

Every team in the league does what they can to get better every offseason. This might be the dumbest comment you have ever made. I know GS thought they were good enough to beat Cleveland as is. Adding Durant makes them better. That is why they did it. It was not because they didn't think they were unable to win as they were constructed before.

I was quoting Collin Cowherd
