Hes coming into a better situation. When lebron joined cleveland they were the favorite right out of the gate. And then came the home grown warriors

That's a good point.

No one outside of their fanbase REALLY viewed the Warriors as a top contender going into the 2014-15 season.

The Spurs were viewed as the one true challenger to the Cavs. But I think at least as many people had the Spurs as the favorites going into that season as had the Cavs.

Vegas had cavs as the favorites. Warriors
Were at best the 4th best team that season. Although i thought coming into the season that they were a top 3 seed atleast and will be alot better under kerr and i ended up being wrong. They were the best team in the west lol

A lot of you are on record as saying that the Warriors - without Durant - are a better team than the Cavs - with LeBron.

And now the same people are arguing that the Cavs without LeBron are the same thing as the Warriors without Durant.

I think the Warriors are/were better before Durant.
Cavs beat them, though.

I think the addition of Durant makes them now a near lock if they are healthy.

As far as who joined a more stacked roster, I still say who cares?
FA can do whatever they want.
It's just funny that Cavs/James fans are the most opinionated on it.
James started the trend of 'teaming up', EVEN did it for a discount.

Durant at least is getting paid a max.
Warriors found a way to lure him over.
Sucks for the other 29 teams, but all is fair in love and war.

I agree with all of that. I think the fact that the Cavs fans are more opinionated on it, though, is only true on this forum.

In the larger, more populous forums, all fanbases seem to be attacking it equally.

There are several rosters in the East that would miss or barely make the playoffs as is, but if they added james would move to the top.
The Cavs are on that list.

Take it even further. How many East teams can you think of that would not be tops in the conference of they added LeBron?

Philly, Brooklyn, who else?

Better question is how many if they added durant...clearly he couldn't even win with westbrook who is a top 5 player

Westbrook is hard to play with. As talented as they come, but he wants to be a solo artist. Not easy to win that way.

Also, the question would not be nearly the same, because LeBron leaving Cleveland simultaneously removes them from contender status. That is an important factor in all of this. Durant could improve some of those teams just as much, but there are only a couple East teams that could vault Cleveland by adding KD if the Cavs still have LeBron.
