I honestly think they should avoid Harrison Barnes now.

Hear me out....

Wouldn't it be better to sign a......Deng?

Give him a 2 year deal, have him mentor whoever you pick between Simmons and Ingram, until they are ready to completely take over.

Barnes will want max money and Bothwell be better than him long-term.

Or

Sign a cheaper young guy like Bazemore.

Was talking about that on the Lakers page with @shopson67 He brought it up and I agree that Deng would be a good signing for the Lakers. At 31, he's a little past his prime, but likely still has 2-3 good years left. Especially if he's willing to come off the bench/spot start and mentor Simmons/Ingram.

Ace is 6-2 and up to 160 pounds (he was 135 before he started eating like crazy).....he wants to get up to 180 but he might be 6-4 or 6-5 after this summer.....he'sgonna be 17 later in June and he's going to be playing football his senior year in Sep. Soooooooooooo jacked!!!!! They have a new coach who was a DC at a rival team that won several CIF titles in a row and got hired at his school to turn them around (they went 2-6 last season).

Cannot wait for this series. There are so many intriguing story lines to this matchup that the games could become some of the best we've seen in quite some time.

1) The Warriors are probably the team best equipped to handle the outside shooting of Cleveland. The Cavs have been otherworldly shooting the ball, but the Warriors ability to go small and switch on everything will help negate some of that.

2) The Warriors weakest link so far has been their center position. Facing the Cavs, actually will help the Warriors in this aspect because they won't need to rely on their center play. They can go smaller much more comfortably against the Cavs, because the Cavs too play small. If they use Love or Frye at the center, the Warriors counter with Draymond at C to guard either of them, or Barnes can also guard Frye.

3) Iguodala has already been shifted into the starting lineup and it'll be interesting to see if they stick with him to begin the next series. He's our best shot at guarding Lebron, as he did last year. Klay will guard Kyrie, Draymond will guard Love.

4) Finally we can put to bed, one way or another, the Cavs not being healthy last year. Cavs are playing at their peak form right now and it looks like the Warriors are playing with great confidence (although truthfully, not really spectacular overall team play).
Curry and LeBron each have so much on the line.

Each team is better than they were last year. The title of best player, best team is on the line.

If the Warriors win they set themselves up for a potential dynasty. If the Cavs win LeBron retains best player alive honors for a little while longer and breaks the Cleveland Curse and goes down in history.

If the Warriors win they can say- YAH we would have beaten u last year too- all that whining was bullshit----if the Cavs win their health gripe looks more and more legitimate.

CANT WAIT!

In a way- I dont MIND starting on the road because the pressure is on Golden State. They are the favorite- they are at home- and are supposed to win...If the Cavs can steal a game they come home with confidence....if its 0-2 the pressure on the Cavs will be IMMENS when they come home and things will NOT be looking very good...

though ill tell ya- i thought the Thunder played like crap last night in that 2nd half....i wouldnt expect lebron to fall apart like that down the stretch.

Exactly.

Obviously, you make a play for Durant.

If you don't get him, this is a fantastic plan B.

Bazemore would be plan C.

I agree with everything so Steph is chasing around JR? That would be a tough matchup for him and could put a toll on him.

JR, at least in the games I've seen, is more of a drifter to the open spot than an active player running around screens (ala JJ Redick). There has been a lot more ball movement from the Cavs, but I don't think JR presents any bigger challenge than JJ or any great spot up shooters. IMO.

He was a pretty solid piece for Miami.

Handsome too, if I remember correctly.

Maybe. I think you start Simmons/Ingram first to see how they respond because it gives you your core for the future (Russell, Clarkson, Randle, Simmons/Ingram) all playing together. But there is definitely a case to be made for bring whoever they get along a little more slowly.

Nah....The new HC was a DC at Rancho Palos Verdes.....My son is at Peninsula. They play teams like Hawthorne and Inglewood.

Mom lives in the expensive zip code.
