Some say LeBron had excuses made for him when he loses. I say BS.

No one has had more excuses made for his failures in the finals than Lebron has. Lebron invites the scrutiny and being picked apart because of the things he does and says.

No player in the history of any sport has been scrutinized and picked apart the way LeBron has.

Muhammad Ali, who was scrutinized and picked apart for things that actually matter, says Hi.

So do Jackie Robinson and Jim Brown.

Don't start this again. This thread is about the Cavs and the Warriors. It has nothing to do with Jordan or the Showtime Lakers.

Some say LeBron had excuses made for him when he loses. I say BS. No player in the history of any sport has been scrutinized and picked apart the way LeBron has. He is going to lose in the Finals again this year because his team is not good enough. We all knew that back in January.

Nobody is making excuses, the Warriors are just better. That should not diminish LeBron's legacy in the slightest.

Can't have it both ways.
James seemed to blame the loss on injuries, not lack of talent.

CLEVELAND – LeBron James – disappointed, subdued, contemplative, plaintive – had all the words to describe how the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors and how he lost in the NBA Finals for the fourth time in six trips.

Five words encapsulated what happened to James and the Cavaliers: "We ran out of talent."

The Cavaliers were without guard Kyrie Irving and forward Kevin Love for several playoff games, Love missing the last three rounds and Irving in and out of the rotation in the Eastern Conference semifinals and finals and out for the last five games against Warriors.

Not a believer in 'must win' games that aren't elimination games but game 2 is 100% a must win for Cleveland.

Then they are 100% fucked.

And yet it does. 2-4 and likely soon to be 2-5 in the finals speaks for itself.

Sure seems like it. It's not a true "must win" because, as you point out, not an elimination game. But the Cavs would have to win 4 of 5 to win the title and that seems pretty unlikely.

If Jordan was 2-5 in the finals, NOBODY would pick him to be the GOAT. Even with the stats and personal awards he has now.

Lebron will eventually make the top 10 of all time. But barely because of that!

Lebron is already a top 10 lock. I do think MJ and Kareem are probably out of his reach.

MJ, Magic, Kareem, Shaq, Kobe, Timmy, Wilt, Bird and Russell are out of reach because of his soon-to-be 2-5 record.
