Interesting play there. Valdespin swung at a hard breaking ball that appeared to hit the ground and bounce away from Leon. Leon didn't even look for the ball and just stood up as Thole went to second, probably could have taken 3rd. On the replay, I think that ball bore way in on Valdespin and hit his toe, which is why it took a 90 degree turn toward the dugout. And also why Leon didn't sweat it, because he figured it was a dead ball strike. Umpire didn't rule it as hitting him, though, and Leon didn't argue. Strange.
Young strikes out Moore to end the top of the 7th. Good recovery by Young after a tough 1st inning. 7 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 7 K, 106 pitches. Not bad for a soft tosser that likes to keep it up in the zone.
These numbers are assuming he's done for the night, which I suspect he is.
