Detwiler pitches around a leadoff walk to Uggla, 9-2 Nats at stretch time.

Harper reaches on an error, but Venters pitches around it. Still 9-2 after 7.

Heyward gets a single of Stammen, Stammen retires the rest. Still 9-2, middle of the 8th.

After that debacle on Friday night, to come out of this series with a split is really good. The standings are back to where they were coming into the series, Nats up on the Braves by 3 1/2 games. On to New York! SP's for the NY series: Zimmerman, Gio, Strasburg...set up nicely.

I see there are some people posting now. Tried to at beginning of season, but wasn't really anybody here. I'll try to be around here more often now... the VT board gets dry when there isn't any football to talk about.

Anyways, getting the series split here was huge. There was the slight fear that we could see the season collapse before our eyes after the loss Friday night, but we're back where we started. Would love to see Gio get back into his pre-Allstar break form on Tuesday.

I saw that you tried and didn't get much response. Hopefully we can get it going. I'm going to try to start as many GNT's as possible, so please come post!

I wont be around here tonight during the game. Going to see batman for first time. But winning this series could make the east a 2 horse race.

Btw. Braves getting dempster is slightly worrisome. They may have the edge late in the season now if we shut strasburg down. It's a good thing our 4, 5, (and 6) pitchers have done well against them this year.

Well I'm hearing dempster is waiving no trade clause so well see how this one pans out.

Fortunate basehit for Lombo, off the glove of Young. Something that soft Young really should have had.

3-2 count, runner goes, Harper delivers a bomb to right field. 2-0 Nats! That's his first HR in a while.

How a guy can be successful pitching this slow and high in the zone is beyond me. Everyone says that's Young's gameplan, though, so I guess he knows best.
