I think both B Miller and Spence took huge jumps last week. I worry about JJ wanting Miller reAl early.
The reason I don't bring in a big $ pass rusher is I think Lawrence continues to improve and I think Gregory will do well in the nickel. I'd like to add a pass rusher to go with them but ideally would like to see it come from the inside a little. Crawford was a major disappointment and I don't think he popped enough for me to expect a lot of improvement next year and that position is huge for this defense. If we could add a pass rusher for a reasonable price I'm all over it, but it's either gotta be a game changer or not a cap killer. So I don't see Vernon as that guy. On pass rushers I'm still hoping for Bosa. I put him at LDE on early downs and move him inside in the nickel. I've said many times I see Gregory as a specialist. I hope he proves me wrong, but that's just how I see it...and I don't think that's an insult...I agree that Vernon doesn't need to come; but I think I'd spend money on pass rush over CB in FA to be honest. If I had one FA I'd go Berry all day; but he will cost 60 mil easy. If I were to get him, I'd go Tredwell in first though.
Agree if he gains some weight. Some guys can put on weight and not lose that burst. If he is one of them he could be real good. My point is more I'd like to see Lawrence on the weak side right now on early downs with a guy more like Mincey's size on the Strong side. I'm hoping for a little bigger overall on the DL on running downs.Still a little early for me to say if Gregory is pure specialist. He is if he stays 240/250 but maybe he adds/holds 20/25 lbs.
No to RG111. Get a rookie qb in this draft.Mock Offseason
Sign
1.) Ronnie Hillman
2.) Olivier Vernon
3.) Wait for it: RG3 lol (I honestly think this will happen, no matter what anyone thinks of it. After this season though we should probably be welcoming RG3 with open arms, better option than anyone we had this year.)
Re-sign
1.) Leary RFA
2.) Heath RFA
3.) Jack Crawford
4.) James Hanna
5.) Rolando McClain
6.) Mo Claiborne
Restructure/Re-sign
1.) Carr (3 yr deal to spread out the cap hit for next year, he is solid, not good; but not as bad as people make him out to be, the cap number needs to be lowered by a lot, and if not then cut him)
2.) T.Smith (Restructure of his deal)
3.) Jason Witten (add 2 more years to his deal to spread out the current 2 years on his deal that are to high for his current role.)
Cut
1.) Gachkar
2.) Free (if you feel like Green is ready to play RT, or you can move Collins to RT and keep Leary at RG)
Mock Draft 4 rounds
1.) Jalen Ramsey
2.) Tyler Boyd
3.) Jayron Kearse
4.) Dominique Alexander
Simple offseason, but how much do we need to really do?
I like this!!! That would be a great start.OL Im leaving Free alone at tackle till after camp and the preseason he is the leader on the OL from what I have read if Green is good enough Free goes I don't move Collins either way Leary is trade bait or solid backup.
1 Carson Wentz QB
2 Jarren Reed DT
3 Noah Spence DE/OLB
4 Tyler Matakevich LB
6 Braxton Miller WR
I would be plenty happy with that draft That's assuming that the Boys find short term help at RB in FA and CB and of course all that could change as FA and the draft unfolds.
Spence is a gamble with his drug history but the talent at that round makes it worth a shot.
Right now its all speculation and things will change of course
The 1st two picKS you have in the draft is my dream draft. imagine having ramsey and jones as the safeties compared to Wilcox and church? ramsey would be a huge upgrade talent wise and I love his brashness. and the #2 pick of boyd would be a steal. boyd is a baller and the complete package. great hands, great route runner, above average speed. boyd would beat out twill. dez and boyd would create headaches for opposing teams.Mock Offseason

We get Scandrick back who is by a mile our best CB. To me Claiborne played better than Carr this year and could be had at a fraction of the cost so I keep him. But, I try to find a starter in the draft or FA or both.
I certainly wouldn't be signing a big $ pass rusher like Vernon, but I'd be looking at CB with the ability to start.
Carr just sucks IMO.
Every team needs pass rushers and we certainly do. If Hardy wasn't such a douche and played at the All Pro level we thought he might I'd be all for singing him to a huge contract. My point is you don't give big $'s to a pass rusher unless he is going to be a game changer. To me Vernon will get big $'s, but isn't that guy. I think Lawrence can be as good and I'm very excited to see Gregory this year. Like I've said a bunch of times if it were up to me and Bosa is on the board at 4, I grab him in a second. So it's not that we don't need pass rushers, it's that we have other needs too and I'm not sure the cost/benefit of the pass rushers I hear people talking about is worth it.you are right we don't need a pass rush (just kidding)

I think Vernon gets more guaranteed $'s than Hardy. I dont expect a huge market for Hardy after the last couple of seasons.Vernon is not going to come near the 12-13M a season that Hardy will draw. and we need both pass rushers and DT's. personally i like the Vernon move and 1 or 2 other pass-rushing DE's + i would like to see us get Mebane & Jay Howard at DT.

So you want to add 3 new DL?

Sure we do but you aren't bringing in 3 starting FA DL in one offseasonand don't we need DT's? who do we have there now? so yeah i think we need to add at least 2 FA DT's. Mebane and Howard would give us presence in the middle that we haven't had in a while.
