Another longtime flame.

And, I was even happy that she hooked up with Eddie.

Then, after seeing what happened to Eddie, and thinking about him "being there", that flame pretty much died.

Still...how do you let your husband name your son Wolfgang?

drew will absolutely get more than that

probably not annually, but as part of a 3 yr deal

3 and 39 sounds about right

Didn't think of a long term deal type. Good point. Do you think Napoli leaves? I mean I would think a team (after this years performance) will certainly be willing to anti-up the change

What do you guys think or Napoli stating he will test the FA waters? Stephen Drew giving up a guaranteed $14.1 million? Does he really think he is going to get more than that?

A mere formality. The Sox made him a multi-year offer, and he will see what else is out there to compare and negotiate.

He is the one guy I want to see back.

I have been reading that Drew will get at least a 3 and maybe a 4 year deal. He may not get $14mm annually, but he could get 4/$48mm or 3/$35mm. He should get it as the best SS on the market, and probably even the best when you consider the guys available for trade.

Some guys will take the longer term security over the shorter gain.

i think he is just trying to drive his price up, or maybe some lingering resentment for them changing his three year deal last year?

they offered him a multi year deal, he wants to come back, it will get done

might just take a little longer

Do you really think Dempster in 2014 will even be in the rotation? I'm thinking he will go straight to pen for year (if he isn't traded)

No room for Dempster at this point. He could be a good bullpen arm, but $12.5mm is a lot to pay a middle reliever/set up guy.

True. He does hold all the cards here.

And what's this I hear the Red Sox are seriously kicking the tires around about Carlos Beltran?

With the free agent SS market being paper thin this offseason, someone will over-pay to get him. They will have to.

Teams have done it before. Besides what team is going to trade for him at this point anyway.

I know he plays excellent defense but it's just so weird to see this statement and think of him

Are they preparing for losing Ellsbury??

Hope so. I like Beltran but don't want him. Ellsbury is most likely gone but I want to give the shot to Bradley JR. and leave Nava,Gomes and Victorino out there

I have a feeling the Yankees will resign Cano and bring in Tanaka and that will be the end of their off season. They can't really do much more than that until this Arod circus is over and that won't happen until after Christmas. By then everyone should be off the market.

All the talk of McCann, Beltran, etc is all bullshit.

I said earlier that there may be some legitimate interest, but it can also be a ploy to drive up his price on the Yankees and get them closer to the luxury tax threshhold.

The Sox want to keep Victorino in RF if they can.

Doubtful that will work this year, I'm sure even if they do bid on Beltran they will have a very strict amount set to spend and if they see the contract price go above that they will be out of the bidding faster than you can say unity beard.
